Brain Tanning - Tanning Leather

"Brain Tanning" overviews an event hosted in Peguis First Nation by Mike Sutherland. Mike hosted a cultural camp where participants had the opportunity to brain tan hides. They learned the steps needed to create leather from moose and deer hides with traditional tools and traditional practices. Other activities included in the video are the preparation of the wild game, canning meat, and smoking fish.
