An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures electrical activity in the brain using small, metal discs (electrodes) attached to the scalp. Brain cells communicate via electrical impulses and are active all the time, even during asleep. This activity shows up as wavy lines on an EEG recording. Note: the EEG is measuring electrical fields, not EM radiation.

I stand corrected, the definition of radiation gets dicey in physics-whether it is ionizing radiation or electromagnetic radiation of fields. Good job.

@@TheHumanCondition Radiation means anything that radiates 🙂 that can be 2 things: A) EM radiation, photons. B) subatomic particles, such as neutrons, protons (hydrogen nuclei), or helium nuclei. Ionizing means the energy of a photon or subatomic particle is such that it can knock electrons off atoms so that they become ions. Atoms with missing electrons. Electrical fields are created around any path that conducts electricity (nerves).
