3:30 Jung always uses the term "valuations". But then if you're in the four F model of hormonal response in the thalamus we are in the realm of animal reflex. Whereas in therapy cognitive reflection elicits the content of valuations, in connects to things and recall of emotional responses to relations.

Emotions and feelings are categorically different, this is something not understood in the Type Community, instincts are not emotions either, none of this is "in the brain" the brain has a role in these processes is the most that can be said, scientists have spent untold billions looking to locate feelings emotions and memories in the brain and have never proved anything, the brain related theories you are discussing are also quite outdated which is an inbuilt problem with the scientific method founded on the doctrine of progress. To illustrate with a concrete type example my brother is Fi Dom/Se PoLR, he can't make decisions to save his life, he just gets lost in the FiNe possibilities. I've seen many people with high Se who can make completely "cold" tactical decisions devoid of emotion and thought in high pressure situations. One has to always bear in mind that the author tends to project himself and his Type into his work which can lead to a layer of obfuscation. However Ben, I do very much appreciate your hyper INTP explanations of Van Der Hoop and Gulenko's INTP theories. Your channel is the best on KZbin by far 👍 Even though you do tend to post the most random and odd material sometimes.
