I think that ginger cat had way too much catnip, high as a kite 😂 Once, I put my sons jeans in the dryer and heard a thumping noise. I thought what the heck has he got in his trousers this time. Opened the door and out shot the cat at 90 mph. He never got in there for a nap again! Thankfully he was ok.

Cats getting in a warm dryer and getting the next wet load thrown on them is actually relatively common. If you have cats,be careful & pay extra attention/know where your pets are. My girlfriend was cleaning house,doing laundry ect ect.mind on alot of things,accidentally put a load of towels on a kitten me & her had just adopted a few days earlier . I got home from work,dinner ready,everything clean & she was upset & thought it had gotten out & lost or something bad had happened to it. We looked everywhere.didn’t eat dinner,out looking for the kitten around the neighborhood,knocking on doors in the woods you name it.Until well after dark.later on in the evening we decided to start searching early the next morning.she went to soak in a hot tub & try & calm down before bed,I decided to clean up the kitchen & put dinner we didn’t eat away & was going to get ready for bed too..remembered the laundry & was going to fold it .one of the most shocking things I have ever had happen or dealt with in my life..won’t get into to much detail but after a long day & hrs of emotional searching ect & realizing what had happened.ft away from where we realized that the kitten was missing.finding something like that involves all of your senses & the sight of it made it instantly obvious that it had put up a fight to get out. All of it is seared in my mind. I didn’t let her look. I went out a dug a deep hole right then and buried the cat ,clothes & all.If I had it to do over, I would have put tape /rope around & disposed of the appliance all together.Was exhausting day all together & realized we couldn’t & wouldn’t ever want to use that dryer again.for many reasons. I couldn’t even think about going to bed with it still in the house. Disconnected all of it & removed vent tube and all before getting a shower,short nap.was at Lowe’s when they opened the next morning & Bought a new washer & dryer..trying to cheer up my girl. She was still terribly upset and felt guilty. We’re still close but not together as a couple. It has come up in conversation a handful of times over the years…her face drops & instant sadness. She appreciated waking up to the new appliances and I stayed home that day and began what turned out to be almost 1/4(ish)house remodeling job .it helped get both of our minds on something else for a while. We both have not rushed swapping laundry since.any friends you have with cats(especially curious kittens in a new home),other small pets that might do the same thing,make them aware that that is definitely a thing that happens. I put a piece of red ribbon on the washer & dryer with tape (it needed to be moved to close the doors)as a reminder for a while.. I realized I didn’t need it & took it off shortly after BUT NOT BAD ADVICE FOR ANY CAT OWNERS OUT THERE!Take care & glad you have good ears(weren’t listening to loader than normal music while cleaning)& were being aware that day. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
