Possibly the best episode in Yellowstone history ever, certainly the best without Costner. Luke Grimes stole the show last night and should he nominated for and win an Emmy for his performance this season, so should Kelly Reilly as the wicked and wild and grieving Beth Dutton. My heart broke for them both in this season. Luke was incredible during the death investigation in coroner’s office, as convincing as ever and as intense and haunted as can be while laser focused and holding it together to get to his father’s killers. His experience in the military as a Navy SEAL is finally thoroughly in the spotlight and helping him more than ever get to the perpetrators of this terrible injustice. As hard as it is not having the patriarch John Dutton/the great Kevin Costner in this season, i am really glad they spent the whole episode focused on solving his murder and that positive progress was made, led by Kayce a man on a mission. Loved when he threw Jaime over the desk and wish he would have done more.

Hoping it’s Rip who does him in because it would haunt Kayce to have to kill his own brother and having him go to prison would result in the whole family going down. I want to see Beth and Rip be ok and Kayce and his beautiful family be happy and stay in the beautiful ranch house they just fixed up. And Jaime is long overdue for a trip to the train station.

Once the death was changed to undetermined, and the PD opening a murder investigation, her days were numbered. When " Grant" was on the phone, it was to tell his people to tie up loose ends. At first I expected her car to blow up as she left Jamie's, but that was too obvious. Then, at the stop light as she was talking to Jamie, you see a car roll up next to hers in the background. This was where it would happen. It was a bold move, in broad daylight and in a residential area, but they were pros. Not knowing the extent of what Sarah may or may not have told Jamie about hit, the company might view Jamie as another loose end ( I would if I were them). Can't try to fake another suicide and a hit is out of the question, so if they do, they'd make it look like an accident. I think Kacey's contact will provide some intel that eventually tie the whole thing to Market Equities, blowing the whole deal.

Wow Sarah got taken out prematurely, because of her own mistake. I wasn't expecting this to happen. And why is Jamie crying? She was literally playing him the entire time as if she cared about him. So now that the assassins have gotten Sarah, most likely with Jamie's number in her phone as well as him hearing the shots on the call he's going to be considered a loose end sadly. I don't want any of the characters to die(from the main cast), but what happens when Jamie runs out of options and has to tell the truth about Sarah to his siblings since he has nowhere else to hide? That is what I'm expecting, or he'll run to Lynelle or Rip, because at this point it really is just Jamie by himself in a very dangerous situation while Beth and Kayce are trying to prolong their father's dream with little to no options. Great episode can't wait for the next. And bravo to the actress who played Sarah and the Dutton's ancestor/relative from the prequel spinoff.

@f.danielporter25922 күн бұрын
I’m surprised you’ all are surprised about how this is going and especially the death of Sarah. I’m only wondering how far this will go i.e.; will ME be implicated in that they employed Sarah and let her off her leash. The sex tape of Jammie and Sarah will be released (by a whistle blower?) and Jammie will be implicated. Kaycee will come down hard on Jamie, the alliance between the Dutton’s and Chairman Rainwarter will save the ranch (it’s Tate’s ranch now with Kaycee as executor of the estate), Rip will continue as the ranch manager and Beth and Rip will live in the lodge until Tate truly takes over and Kaycee will manage the entire ranch until Tate comes of age. I just hope ME is implicated and that this goes to a season 6-7 to further develop the continuation of the ranch. I’m pretty sure the company used to kill John Dutton won’t be found (they’ve already disconnected their phone) but ME could easily be seen as the hitters by the hiring that company. This is really an important work that exposes those that only think of the money versus preserving the legacy and importance of the ranch. In this story, will money win out or will the chance to preserve the land win (and the nations food source)? This is another attempt at a land grab and while they use Jackson Hole as an example, they should also use Park City to show what is happening by money managers, hedge fund managers and land grabbers (North Easterners and Californians) coming in from out of State spending their money and pissing on their home states (look also at western Washington and Oregon). Real World; This story goes into what may very well happen to the 6666 ranch, the King Ranch and several other large ranches in the West. I’ve seen it happening since Ted Turner used his empire to buy up so much of Wyoming as well as those two guys in Western Idaho. This story is about the settlement and heritage of the West and the North Eastern white man’s trying to buy, own and control the nation’s resources. It also goes into the power and influence of the federal government in land management using using whatever means are available including inheritance taxes with the IRS, Eminent Domain laws and the legal warfare being waged against people that have developed homes and business throughout the country. Although this story is set in Montana, look around you and see how often Eminent Domain is being used and communities are being destroyed by major corporations and property developers (consider how much money was spent in the last political campaigns and ask yourself where it comes from). I really hope Taylor Sheridan continues this show and the themes it brings out. This show highlights my philosophy of the government’s motives; it’s all about WPP; Wealth, Power and Prestige and is nothing more than what happened to the native American’s during the formation of this nation. Back to the story Line; the funny thing about this show is that Chairman Rainwater’s goals have actually been met; Tate owns the Ranch and Tate is a native American and is being taught all the ways of his ancestors, both Western European and Native American. In essence the ranch is now a part of the native American’s nation through Tate (question; can Tate roll the Ranch into claims made by the Native American nation in that his heritage is 1/2 Native American?). Kaycee, Beth Rip and Tate can carry this show for many, many years to come with Tate becoming the full owner of the heritage of the Dutton family. And, I can see Beth becoming more in the Ranch’s preservation as she steps up the full impact of how this evolves. I made a few edits in only spelling and grammar thus the note about edit. Thanks

@f.danielporter25922 күн бұрын
@@PaigeFaucher thanks. Never watched Game of Thrones but I heard the discussions. It sounds like a sad ending to a great show. I was only surprised by the speed of Sarah’s death; not her death itself. She was warned of this possible outcome when she was shown the sex tape. I think that is why she was so bothered by the homicide developments. I am thrilled by Kaycee’s proactive, methodical approach with the medical examiner. He doesn’t direct the decision but simply presents things in a way that allows the ME to draw her own conclusions (including the choke hold. (As a side note, we practiced the use of the carotid choke hold a couple times a week for over three months when I was in the LE academy in California in the 70’s so I am familiar with the path Kaycee toke the assistant ME down. I’m a little dismayed the ME didn’t go down that path by herself prior to Kaycee injecting himself into the process. It’s a basic technique we used frequently in both LE and in the Army to disable subjects when necessary (as Kaycee explained accurately). it is not an unknown in the LE world. I hypothesize that a background on Sarah will show she worked for ME and was working for them at the time of John Dutton’s death. This will lead the ME and the Helena PD Detective to Jamie when the sex tape is released and exposed along with the collaboration between Jamie and Sarah to get that Airport built each with their own motives. After watching the episode for the fourth or fifth time a few minutes ago, I am concluding that Beth is still deep into her mother’s death. She has allowed that death to frame her entire self and still does.and only Rip helps her deal with that part of her life and herself. What do you think? I hope Taylor Sheridan writes in some contact with the actual killers but I don’t expect it. This show could credibly go on for several more years such as Bonanza or Gunsmoke did and never have a bad story line. The settling of the ownership and management of the Ranch, Tates coming of age and taking ownership of the Ranch after college and a time working as a cowboy all the while learning the intricacies of management of the Ranch. I’m also looking forward to to how Tate and Carter get along and what roll Carter fills as this goes forward. Is Carter the future Rip with Tatre being the future Kaycee? Kaycee and Rip seem to get along well now although it was a bumpy journey for them. They make a great team now handling the Ranch. It would be nice to see that progression as well as everything that can be developed. Like I said, this could very easily be be one of the longest running shows in history although I see Jamie being on the outside trying to get back in line (maybe after some prison timer. Jamie is too high profile to end up at three train station but he knows to much that could bring the ranch down to save his own skin. Lots of paths TS can go down if he’s not tired of the show himself. It’s late so please pardon my typing errors. Thanks again.

I think after the Governors death was announced as a homicide then the contract killer firm saw her as a liability and took her out so it couldn't come back to them. The mum and dad killers were very different to the heavies that took out Dutton so you'd think only the firm would have that type of range of different killers on book. Right? Yup they shut that ish DOWN....I knew what it was when they disconnected the phone😅 The only plot hole for me is that the firm would've performed a target package on John Dutton and family. Realizing Casey's military background (SEAL- being awarded a Navy Cross), they would have passed on the job or killed Casey's as well.

Jamie will try to cover his tracks, considering his number is the last one calling Sarah's phone before she died. It'll be nice to see him stressing and losing his mind for an episode or two before Beth finally ends his miserable life.

omg Sarah played Margaret in 1983... I totally didn't realize. She's stunning ....looks a bit like a Holywood version of Trish Stratus.
@eddieardakoc73082 күн бұрын
Thats why this is TV. There's nothing to tie Jamie to this. The only person who could is dead. Jamie could could turn this around and blame it on Beth! She walks into Jamies office always threatening, and she even laid hands on Sarah publicly. If this went to a trial Beth could be put in a mental hospital

from 1883, it was indicated the tribe will take back the land after 7 generations and it was agreed by James Dutton who founded the Yellowstone, so maybe it’s time the Indian take it back

Jamie was aware that his phone number would be on Sarah's phone. But, I thought that the assassin picked up Sarah's phone before he left the scene of the crime. But the damaged burner phone will be a loose end. Will the authorities get the now-cancelled phone number from it?

Something has to go on with Lynelle Perri and John's assistant, they figure into the plot somehow with the writer it seems. Also Beth doing something in regard to Jaime's child should be touched on. She's did say she'd take him from him. I'm really invested now!!
@azureclancy5686Күн бұрын
I sorta had a feeling something was gonna happen to one of them, cause the guy that planned John’s death did say they would blame it on them if they investigated it. And when that guy shot her he made sure to do it multiple times, makes it look like it was personal so yeah I 100% think that if there is a new season then he will be blamed for her death and John’s

Of course, Sarah was eliminated. She took all the risk. She met with the hit man. She gave the “go”. I expected her death.

I saw Sarah getting killed the moment we saw the dude from the org making that phone call. It was implied last week as well. The car moving slowly in the background that was too clear to ignore was what confirmed it. BUT I'm not saying I'm that clever because I jumped and cheered like a school cheerleader because of what I thought was the POV of a hidden John Dutton who used a decoy, getting the drop on the killers and was gonna stage the whole thing himself since of course we never saw his face. I was also thinking that because I was sure Kevin and Taylor were gonna pull a fast one because as far as I recall the most negative thing I read was that it was lawyers that ruined negotiations so being true to their characters onscreen the two would man up, talk man to man, and fix this. But nope. Johns dead and in the most F you way possible.

Jaime will be taken to the train station. Sara's death puts the spotlight on Jaime, and Beth/Kacey cannot risk him telling what he knows to get out of being charged for anything. Jaime would turn state evidence against the Yellowstone in a heartbeat to save his own butt. He needs to go for this reason alone, nevermind going against the ranch. I also think Market Equities will pivot and put the suspicion onto Jaime as well to distract from them - I think they will make Jaime look like the person who orchestrated all this. ME needs to distance itself from Sara also.
@MrNorcal812 күн бұрын
Once the ME gets the toxicology report back, she'll likely start looking for a needle puncture and if she's anything worth her pay, experience should lead her to look between the toes.

It's too easy for Jamie to go down through the legal system. There will be another twist or more. Right when we think Jamie is done for, something will turn and he will be free and someone else (probably Beth) will be under fire. Who will ultimately survive of the three Duttons? Beth, she has the most range for a spinoff, and she's boring w/out RIP.
