I feel like the piston should be installed with the flat side to the brake pad. The hollow side should go inside the caliper and fill with fluid. Seems like the hollow side out will fill with dirt.

Rob Lazar yep, i see where youre coming from with that logic. Thats the way i was always taught to assemble caliier pistons and I think if you check the various manuals, the caliper pistons are always assembled hollow-side facing out, so there’s probably a good reason for that 😉 maybe better pressure is generated with less fluid being compressed in a smaller space? You make an interesting point though, i ‘ll try to find some answers 😉👍🏽

In the MAKINA channel, I saw a radial 4piston Brembo front brake caliper on your DRZ. Can you pls tell me how/where did you get the mounting bracket for that? If you manufactured it, can you tell me a bit details about it? And which Brembo caliper is it? Thanks.

Thats an old 320mm rotor/brembo 4-pot kit that was sold on wheeling cycles. Its a 4-pot brembo caliper that is lightly shaved on the back to clear the spokes. It sits on a QTM caliper mount. Unfortunately these have been discontinued, but you still find it on ebay occasionally.

@@plt4415 managed to snag one? i still see wheeling cycles selling the bracket. you might want to check with them. the caliper you can use from a BMW S1000RR left side or KTM 690 SM R ones and skimmed the back off for fitting. rotor wise there are a few; NG disc, brembo, motomaster etc. FYI it’s the same as Yamaha YZ450F (don’t know if the year matters)
