Thanks for this useful video. After 18 ish months of this message popping up every time I go to start my transit, I can finally go out in my garden & fix it......eventually 😀

Cheers for this buddy,,, I had this message up, automatically changed the front pads, message wouldn't still go off, see this video, checked my connections and the rear connector was loose , tightened it up,,, off goes the message,,, what a waste of £125 for new pads and labour,,,, live and learn

Cheers. A job for me this weekend to take a look at this annoying issue after I had new brakes and disks fitted.

Thanks Richard B this problem occurred to me after I had a tyre changed, on getting home I found the sensor wire hanging down, perhaps dislodged by the tyre guy. Tried your fix and worked great, perhaps I will ask the garage to reconnect next time its in for a service but for now its safely cable tied out of the way.

Stephen Brown you will not need a new one, rear brakes take a very long time to wear out

Mine came on today. Checked pads all good. Then seen your video so checked the rear wiring as you state in the video low and behold I have a broken wire but it’s on the opposite side of the plug 🙄
@richardb24683 жыл бұрын
The same method should work for you
@androidloid21913 жыл бұрын
So what you did is remove the plug that has the 2 broken wires then you bridged the wires then plugged it back in? That stops the brake pad warning light?
@richardb24683 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed
@chrisbow17764 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to connect a new sensor though without having to disassemble the brake setup?. I ain't a mechanic and not into taking out brake pads etc to connect a new sensor.
@richardb24684 жыл бұрын
You would have to at least take out the inboard pad to connect a new sensor
@richardb24684 жыл бұрын
chris bow no. You have to take a pad out
@leemacey1002 жыл бұрын
Can you potentially do this to all of the cables?
@norfolkbushmanandfriends79162 жыл бұрын
Sure

had this light on the dash, took it to ford immediately as only 50000km of light duty on it and they proceeded to quote 1300aud for new front disks and pads

688 miles in your tank????? Mine never says that many, but then again I never fill it right up...
@youtubefan21322 жыл бұрын
Is this the same for ford galaxy 1.9 TDI 03 models?
@richardb24682 жыл бұрын
Yes in fact this is the same for most cars

i did that to both rear wheals, not worked for me, still have the message "brake pad wear, service now"...
@iMorinaMusic3 жыл бұрын
Your fuel tank says 668 miles is that for real? Mine only goes 355 max full tank. And also isn’t it dangerous to do that as if the breake pads will wear off how would you know?.
@richardb24683 жыл бұрын
MorinaMusic no this is not dangerous, the rear pads wear at a dramatically less rate than the front and if you keep the vehicle serviced regularly you will easily tell how they are doing... yes my van gets great mileage per tank but she is very well looked after

When I press the brake about 4 times it becomes hard. Still brakes but stiff. Then after driving a bit further it goes normal again
@richardb24688 ай бұрын
Sit in the vehicle and replicate that while stopped and with the engine running, get it to go solid and hold it down, it should start to get softer while you hold it there. If it does then that is normal
