After two attempts, the bralette tutorial is here. This pattern works well for woven fabrics such as cotton, denim, silk, brocade e.t.c. With only half a metre of fabric and your custom pattern, you can create your own bralette.

Measuring is the most important specially on fabrics that are not soft and strechy like the ones u used. Strechy will hug ur body no matter what. The fabric u use is not for amateur

I searched the internet for books and instructions etc. but found nowhere an understandable pattern making. This is, I am sorry, also totally confusing. I saw lots of 1,5 or 3 inches marks but where do they come from? It is nothing what was measured before. Does anyone know where I can find a really good instruction? I don´t want to copy something, I really want to understand and learn it.

Thank you for this tutorial. I just made one out of an old torn up gray T-shirt. I traced the pattern onto the fabric that was still good. I also used bra straps in a matching color with silver sliders. Now I have the comfiest bralette ever! Next I'm doing one in cotton gingham.

Hard to follow pattern making. How exactly did you do the half of nipple point marking. Was the measurement taken from the middle point of the 2 line? I have replayed that part multiple times and i still dont get it.

What was the measurement of across the bust horizontally used for?

Under bust line is = Full bust minus waist plus 1 divided by 2 Men's if chest 38 - waist 32=6+1=7÷2 = 3 and half is it correct

I think you should add a "dart " on the pattern piece for a more fitting bralette, I mean you draw a dart from the side to the nipple point on the pattern with no seam allowances, then cut the dart and close it on the paper to have the new pattern piece and then you add new seam allowance

What about adding a dart to prevent the gaping at the sides? Also, did your fabric have any stretch to it in the banding? I would need that. I really like how it goes down to the waist. I look for them in the stores, but they always end up being to short leaving a roll under the band between my bra and my waist! This pattern might be what I have been looking for!!

I thought about that too, maybe that’ll take away the gaping on the sides. Like a two centimetres dart. My fabric had no stretch. It’s worth giving it a try. Maybe making a quick sample to see how it sits on your body and then make changes to suit your preference

If you cut it on the bias it will sag and stretch. Maybe you need to to structure the fabric so it doesn’t gape. I didn’t really like this piece too much. Sorry. If the cups hugged the breasts better it would look amazing.
