When discussing these two tractors, no-one mentions the main functional difference. The larger rear tires allow for a greater lift height on the threepoint lift! The 1025r has a "Limited" 3 point; it cannot lift your implement to provide max ground clearance. This can "limit" the attachments you can use. The rear blade on my 1026r sits so low I have to be careful when crossing a curb or it will hit. Buy the 2025r if you are going to extensively use 3 point attachments and have concerns about ground clearance.

That is a nice looking tractor and I have the 2016 year model 3032E tractor and wonder if John Deere have improved that tractor also. I also have a 2002 model 790 tractor and it has the same problems as the newest one I purchased and that is battery access, and fuel tank location which is weird since other companies like New Holland have made their refueling capability and battery access much easier. John Deere, Kutota, and a few other companies just decided not to do it and make it tougher on the owners.
@hammondtractor6 жыл бұрын
They have in 2018, check out our video on that tractor.
@vtdrive1295 жыл бұрын
The best fuel tank location is under the floor boards, so you're at waist height. The battery in the very front of frame, seems to work best. My LS XR has both of these items in the best spot. A lot of the popular color tractor brands seem to pinch in the strangest places.

My problem with Deere and Kubota is that, to remain price competitive, they have stripped down their tractors. If not stripped down, they are so much more money than competition, that I can't even compare them. Just fyi, I owned a brand new 3320 tlb in the past, good tractor, excellent fit and finish, not as heavy duty as my Masseys or my new LS Mtron. Deere would have been 5-7k more, for same options, than my LS - that's a tough pill to swallow to buy green.
@Will-tm5bj5 жыл бұрын
What ls did you get? I've been looking at the mt125 and xg3025. Test drove a deere 1025r with a loader, backhoe, and grapple they wanted 23k for it. The ls xg3025 with loader, backhoe, box blade, pallet forks was going for 21. The deere was really nice though and the dealer has been there longer. Such a hard decision lol, but I'm fortunate to say that

@jimfrits3345 жыл бұрын
That tool box looks like it was designed by someone that has never owned a tractor of any size and doesn't have a clue on why they are needed. Oh, it looks real nice with that handle but as an owner of the GenII 2025R it can attest that the handle is a supreme pain in the rear and just needs to disappear. The box location and size is frankly the worst thing I have found on this tractor. It doesn't even allow a 12" crescent wrench to fit. The handle must be flipped forward to open the box and then you have the problem of the hasp design interfering with that requirement!! Really frustrating. I will never use that box on my tractor for anything but the most mundane items, maybe extra pair of gloves or something of that nature. In the meantime I fabricated and mounted a toolbox bracket on the rear of my tractor and mounted a box from a 1025R. It fits just fine with enough clearance for the backhoe outrigger when it's in the stored position.

@hammondtractor6 жыл бұрын
Depends on what your trying to do with the tractor for me it would come down to if your doing bush hogging in rougher terrain or if your looking to do some minor woods work the 2025R will allow you better ground clearance for those tasks.
@virginiabronc5 жыл бұрын
Ground clearance, more hydraulic flow, and a true stage 1 3 point, not a limited like the 1025, (which is important for larger implement's) the 1025r and 1023 only recommend certain rear implement sizes so you for one dont overpower the machine, and secondly so you're not dragging them around. The 2025 allows you to use the full array of implements, that is of course, the ones that are rated for it.

Hello, I'm looking to buy a 1025r or a 2025r in the next month or two. I was told that the only real difference between them is the size, it that true? If so since you would need a wider bush hog or tiller for the 2025r because i it's size, do you find the rear PTO to be a little under sized? Thanks!
@hammondtractor6 жыл бұрын
The frame size and wheel / tire package size are primarily the main differences. They would take the same width bush hog 48".

Is there a size difference between the 2025R, 2032R, and 2038R, or any other significant difference other than the horsepower?
@hammondtractor6 жыл бұрын
Glad you asked the 2025R is on a smaller chassis as well. The 2032R and 2038R are considered the big framed 2R's size wise they are similar to a 3E. The Larger 2R's has a 220R loader instead of a 120R which creats about 1200lbs of lift instead of 950lb. The 2025R is a great size for folks that dont need bigger horse power but also want a little bigger than a sub compact.

My old tractor has full steel body with polymer (plastic) hood, and I can tell you the metal is dented and rusted in many areas while the hood looks incredibly well with no damage what so ever, it's a 1988 tractor. Polymer is a proven product and if it's to much plastic why does it hold the most resale value then any other brand? These tractors are solid and well built machines.

Why does anyone buy a plastic tractor for I would rather have all steel
@hammondtractor6 жыл бұрын
Well there a few good reasons. This plastic is not a cheap plastic like you find on lawn mowers its a much more durable plastic, we have seen people drop trees on them without breaking where if they had steel it would have been crushed. Steel dents chips and rusts. Both are good but until you've owned one for a few years it would be hard to judge for yourself.
