Brand New Burrtec Pete 520 Octo Side Loader Garbage Truck

Heres a brand new truck my yard got recently doing some yard waste in Castaic. Super cool to see burrtec buy a Peterbilt considering most the new Octos they buy are always ACX chassis. It was interesting that they decided to run it with only one signboard as well but I guess thats how badly they didnt wanna use the CP Python. Anyways hope you all enjoy! Great video, loved the early morning shots you were able to capture, as well as expertly show off how shiny this truck was on its first days. Overall, its been neat seeing the oddball combos Socal companies are using, this being one of them. Nice find, as usual!

My goodness. This has been the day I've been waiting for since I learned about and watched the 520 here on YT. Even though I had thoughts and daydreams about what one of those trucks could look like, I had by this point had accepted that Burrtec would never buy these, even after they bought those single axle Pak-Mors for Mountain Disposal. so I'm glad to see someone has changed their mind. While I approve of this truck, there was four things I noticed. First up is the engine. What it is, it's definitely a first for Burrtec. When I was envisioning those 520s for Burrtec earlier I was thinking those engines LABOS/LASAN has in their '14/'15 Petes. But the newer trucks don't have them so I shouldn't be suprised. Second is the CNG fuel tanks. I've been so accustomed to the bulkier units on the older Amreps, and somehow overlooked the slimmer units on the '21/'22/'23 Autocars, so when noticed the identical unit on the this truck, It made me pause for a minute. I guess I'll get used to it, but those bulkier units on the older trucks would have made this a better looker. Third, the orange stripe. the way it looks, again, is okay, but I prefer the older style. And Fourth, the fonts on the signboard. the font for "BURRTEC" reminds the same. However, the other wording uses something that, while part of the Franklin Gothic family Burrtec uses, is different and I haven't seen on any other truck to date. the phone number uses the variant used for phone numbers in the desert in place of Helvetica. With that said though, I think the second half is isolated to either this truck or a batch of trucks. It is interesting to see mudflaps with both and Amrep's logos, and...psst...there is a signboard on truck's left, it's just blank. 😏 Anyway, I do like the truck, and despite the stuff I see that I disapprove, I await further additions to the fleet. Oh, and I can get information on the CP Python you guys have? just asking.

Nice video bro ! Never imagined burrtec to to buy a 520 with the octo body . Pretty sweet combo and I really hope LABOS buys octos in their new batch of trucks next year . I’ve been hearing that octos pack more than ellipticals and LABOS drivers like the octos better . Really hope burrtec buys more of these trucks since they are cool . Definitely going to rewatch and going to my favorites!

Super cool video Marcus. Can’t tell you how excited I was to see this in my feed this morning. I’ve said it many times in the past, but I really wish Amrep (or Wastequip) would advertise their Octo model as much as they do with the Elliptical. I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews on them about being able to pack better or more. Glad Burrtec is buying them on 520s, the new Autocars are nice but the 520 is rarer I guess. I’m also glad this is a brand new body rather than an older refurbishment, that would be cool though too. On a more personal side, I definitely wish LA would get these. Seeing this combo come to life now makes me want that even more lol. Great video!
