The premise of an aspiring writer coming across something horrible whilst trying to make it in Los Angeles feels like a Dennis Etchison story. Which is ace! Etchison's stories were often set in around Los Angeles: from the deceptive glamour of Hollywood to the downtown dives and valleys beyond. All evoked with a pulpy and psychological dread. The way you guys describe this series gives it a similar vibe. Will definitely be giving this series a shot!

#Shesgonnahavekittens you and Jack probably didn’t know this, but Eric Lange used to work with a sleazy producer before he plays one. He was on the tv show Victorious as a drama teacher, also a side character and I can see why he committed to the role because he knows him and that man’s name is none other than Dan Schneider.

I think the best part of the show is when you find out what happened to Mary's eye when filming the short film "Lucy's Eye." I won't spoil it here in the comments. It's pretty fucked up. #ShesGonnaHaveKittens

I enjoyed this series. It was really messed up. But it was a good ride. A totally bonkers. Wall to wall. Crazy town. People doing insanely bad things to each other for "reasons". The worst person is either the main character, the witch or the director. They are all equally bad to me. The acting was so good that I believed them as being those characters. Also, near the beginning, the witch grabs the main character a soda bottle to drink. It's the same product that she used to drink as a child in Brazil. She looks at the bottle & reads it out loud. She says that now it's got: Brand New Cherry Flavor. #she's having kittens 😸😸😸😸

I just finished reading Coldheart Canyon and no, the Anti-Christ isn't in it. What is in it is Lilith and her saytar-like son. It hit me while I was reading it though, Barker's the *only* horror novel writer I've seen who isn't afraid to make fat women the heroines. Sure, he's still a bit problematic in writing us, but at least he's brave enough to show fat women can kick butt in the name of good. Where most writers make us a villain like the abusive mom or Annie Wilkes. And the way Patricia Cornwell writes fat women as if they're worse then the serial killers in her books. #shesgonnahavekittens
