I buy mine off eBay, but there are a ways of buying them cheaper right from private sellers online (if you live in the USA), such as 1StopDiecast, and The Toy Peddler. Good luck!

New paint, new carpet, I bet it smells good and fresh in that room, great job on the renovations. This shows a true collector when a room is dedicated to, and built around the collection. I'm still at the level where I keep full Rubbermaid tubs laying around. I would love to show my cars like that. I might just give them away and not worry about it, anybody want 'em, ha just kiddin'. Great job sir!!

I know your way more of a vintage guy but whats your stance on thunts do you collect them and if so how many do you have and do you open them or leave in package
@wtffor10 жыл бұрын
yankeeslover01able I do not collect T-Hunts, as I feel that the scalpers have destroyed the whole nostalgia of "treasure hunting" one of these awesome cars in the wild (department store). I cannot justify paying second hand prices of $20 to $40 on a $1 car that is actually mass-produced to the tune of about 20,000 each model (on average). I would rather buy a $5 Greenlight, M2, or AutoWorld car that has higher detail and more limited production run (typically 10,000 or less per casting). But I really don't think you are devaluing your TH all that much by opening it, if that's the way you like to display your cars. The prices on them are always over-inflated when the cars are new, but look at TH's from years past (other then '95 and '96) and you will see they are not overly valuable cars, mint loose or packaged. I say CRACK 'EM! Video it for us to see, I love seeing cars let loose.
@Pandaedc081510 жыл бұрын
wtffor i was thinking about it actualy i have over 100 thunts alot are from the early years of thunts i just got a new display case and think it would be pretty awesome if it was full of loose thunts

I use a numbering system on each case which acts like a file card, then I use Mike Zarnock's Variation Guide Book to locate each car, which in turn identifies which case my actual car is in. Easy to do, and you don't even need a computer. Thanks for watching!

Where exactly are you getting your cases of Plano 5324 because I can't find a case anywhere and when I'm lucky to find one I pay almost $17 for one
@wtffor11 жыл бұрын
I was buying them at WalMart up until about 2 months ago. They used to keep them in stock for $6 each. Unfortunately I have not seen them for sale in any WalMart or other stores in the last couple months. I don't know why, or what happened. I will be in a panic when I've used up my last Plano's, as my reserve hoard of cases is dwindling. :(

Holy shmokes! This is where people can observe how a serious collector works. Just one section uses 200 cases? So, realistically, how many of those display cases do you reckon you might have there? 1000 or so? I believe those are $8 a piece. I'm sure all the ladies and gennlemen can all do the math. And that's just to hold the collected items, whether displayed or not. . I thot I'd watched this before, but YT didn't indicate it. Oh well. :¬)
@wtffor9 жыл бұрын
+wordreet Hahaha! Thanks very much for the comment, and happy Holidays to you! I have 637 cases at last count, all with at least 24 cars in each and some with two cars to a compartment or more... so maybe some cases have as many as 50 cars in them. One day I hope to put these cases on the walls in the rest of my basement, or rotate the collection.
