It’s not an exhaust pipe it’s a robosco heater it’s a small heater that runs on diesel to heat up the engine to make it easier to start in the winter

What makes it look even more weird without them is the missing logo on the hood, but not everything is about looks. I see a potential problem coming with those vents removed.

They have also been designating them about a year newer than they should, I guess to make the bus seem newer than it really is. The semi truck industry does the same thing, which is probably why the buses are the way that they are.

Those side “vents” haven’t served a purpose for over 10 years. Regardless of engine, the air for the engine is pulled in next to the radiator (passenger side of bus)
