Kinda just depends on what timeframe of the Yamato they were trying to show. The pre or post 1944 version. Pretty rare for a genre on a platform where simulator games that rely on the player learning the mechanics themselves are few and far between. I feel like all the harsh comments are due to people expecting this to be PC quality in mechanics, graphics and detail which is fair to some point seeing as this was played on a PC after all. I think the best way to describe Silent Depth 2 is a Light Sub Sim. With emphasis on 'Light.' The game is missing a lot of things and has a general lack of polish for sure, and that is most definitely a demerit to it. But I'll give credit to the game for its ease of accessibility at the least. With so few features to manage and learn it makes picking it up easy for people totally new to Sub Sims for sure. With consistent work from the developers to fix problems present at launch and addition of options for more experienced submariners I think this game could be pretty good.

Captures the 'Spirit' of the Original game exactly. The original was a very Sim-lite as they are known now, something anyone can pick up, play for however long, have some fun imagining they are a Heroic Captain, without having to Patrol for an age to seek targets, plot an intercept then work out solutions. Or to get younger players interested in the genre. So, maybe it will attract then, those who play the game to seek out something more in the vein of a simulation in the future or just be happy with this level of gameplay, without worrying that Torpedo reloading times are off and there's not enough rivets running down the side of the Conning Tower. More Submarine games and sims the better, everyone doesn't need to be a study sim, and maybe more of those will come as a result. For the asking price, it looks great fun with decent graphics for a revamp of the original, old title. For anyone interested - Crash Dive 2 set in the same theatre is also an excellent game all round with a similar style, crew management lite and Patrol Log. The Dev on Crash Dive 2 has constantly updated and tuned the game along with releasing a couple map maps of areas of operation as DLC's.

The fuel tankers were very eco-friendly. Whilst burning brightly, they thoughtfully did not send large, dense clouds of black carbon into the atmosphere. Very green, indeed!

This looks like a public alpha of a remake of the original Silent Service. They have a lot of work to do to being this up to snuff. Even the original had a TDC.

And the choice between flawless and historical torpedos. And different sub classes.

problem im seeing is the lack of interaction between the sea and the boat. it appears like they are entirely seperated by code and have no influence on eachother. no pitch and roll surfacing looks like you had a bunch of baloons tied to the boat. however the time they spent on the graphics did indeed pay off

Wtf Yamato that quick?! Depth charges look cool. Also lol ‘I had a lot of fun getting depth charged’ doesn’t ring true to me in a submarine game for some reason. Funny as though 😂

I got kind of excited seeing this video in my recommended feed. I watched the first several minutes and couldn't take it anymore. Wolfpack, you're better than this. This does not look like a good game. It looks like the Wish version of SH4, and event that is giving it too much credit.

i never liked naval games,i tried to skip ships in games whenever i could, but your channel especially made me fall in love with that "genre", i am now somewhat of a kaleun of our own little crew in wolfpack myself and i thank you so much for it, i am now a u-boat enthusiastic and i think i must buy this game aswell haha. Der BdU is ne einzige Sauzucht.

not complaining, a new sub sim game is always welcome and for sure this gives me SH4 vibes, but I have seen far better water. I hope they improve on that, other than that seems a pretty cool game all around

Uboat 2: Pacific war is what I want to see after the Type IX and Type XXI DLCs for Uboat

Be nice, in a game.. when firing a gun that has a sight (impeding your view of hitting the target after lobbing a round) IF you could press a button, to lean your character's view to the side to see if the shot hits.. instead of having to MOVE the reticle to see if it hits, then attempt to work out your aim once again.

Played the C-64 of "Silent Service" years ago. Miss a good sub game

It looks like its way easier then uboat for example and way faster what maybe makes it interesting for more people but the grafics really need some work. Even war on the sea have more water physics
