@@NEOH_Bwomp Whats ur general take on rescue ace matchup? gonna play vs it a lot soon cause a friend built it
@KillstardoTCG2 ай бұрын
Congrats on the top first off! Second i love this build alot and have a few questions such as what's your thoughts on a card like super poly i found it to be a good board breaker or piece of interruption with the fiendsmith engine as well as a way to break the full yubel board. Was there anything you felt like you missed during the event?
@AnkushV22 ай бұрын
also with what do you make LADD? why not use branded banishment?
@NEOH_Bwomp2 ай бұрын
@@AnkushV2 The rescue ace match up isn't that bad, I just happened to have very unideal hands. Going second against the back row is a bit tough but post side with evenly and duster, if you can get those to resolve you're in a very good spot. The one I played against was a bit more of a Kash/Snake Pile on top of the rescue stuff so going second into the board is much tougher but not impossible, just depends on the hand. Since branded isn't a hand trap deck you're very reliant on seeing the breaker cards, but with thrust it helps tremendously And as far as LaDD goes you can use Red, White, and Cartesia to summon it as well. I thought about banishment but it was hard to find a way to squeeze it in, the primary way I was summoning LaDD with was Cartesia. Banishment wasn't a necessity, LaDD justifies the card more but I never had a moment where I thought I needed it
@NEOH_Bwomp2 ай бұрын
@@KillstardoTCG Thank you! Super poly is a usable card, with albaz you always have multiple live targets, and some boards can with Cartesia or a despia monster(including Quem). But this format it felt like the least impactful breaker. If you're playing garura/mudragon it gives a bit more possibilities as far as what to summon with it but Yubel is the hardest match up and their board typically has too much for 1 super poly to do the trick, plus with the current extra deck the space just felt too tight to play the 2 generic targets. The only thing I felt like I missed was 1 dark ruler in main for thrust but there was only like 2 instances during the event it mattered. One of which I won anyway and the other was too close to call if it would've won me that game or not

What was your best/easiest matchup? I played there Sunday too with a 54 card list and yubel was for sure my hardest matchup. Besides the random rogue. Any tips for a fellow branded player?
@NEOH_Bwomp2 ай бұрын
@@dudditsygo2733 Yubel is absolutely THE hardest match up. Since the deck is a breaker based deck and can't afford hand traps unless they can win the game alone (nib, droll, or other crazy hand traps that dumpster certain decks) you can't really prevent them from making their board and they're full board is well insulated against certain breakers so often times you need to see 2-3 breakers depending on which ones they are. As far as easiest match up, the only relevant enough one I know off hand is voiceless, combo + breaker is typically pretty good against them plus with Bystial as engine that helps too. Sometimes random rogue match ups are tough, the deck struggles with decks that make tower monsters (like raid raptor) but for the most part the deck has a good spread, it's just a matter of die roll and what hand traps they have/board they make depending on who's going first and second. Realistically it's just a matter of knowing what to prepare for and making sure you get tons of practice in because branded has so many insane little interactions that you don't really realize until you've put so much time into the deck. Even at the event I was finding new interactions that made massive impacts on the gamestate
@dudditsygo27332 ай бұрын
@@NEOH_Bwomp raidraptor was for sure the most annoying due to towers, but thanks for the insight and congrats on the invite dude. Hopefully I’ll get my invite next time around

Hey man, well done on the Top! Why did you choose not to run grass? (and foolish)
@NEOH_Bwomp2 ай бұрын
@@AnkushV2 So initially I was testing a 60 card list with grass and foolish. In general it was fine, but didn't feel overly spectacular or anything,. I kept running into having less than ideal hands more often than a smaller deck count would; 60 with foolish and tear name or 2 was definitely fun but didn't quite feel like it was the right choice for the event. I actually wanted to play a flat 50 but I couldn't decide on what 1 card was the correct cut to make it happen. No foolish was primarily to just shrink the deck and leave room for cards that got more value and wouldn't provide a punish if my hand lost to a stray Droll. Foolish has its other applications but my primary goal was playing around as many hand traps as I could and prioritizing cards that helped in doing so or were simply more powerful in general
@AnkushV22 ай бұрын
@@NEOH_Bwomp Makes sense, i just started getting into branded but im feeling kinda the same, been testing with 60 card grass and tbh it doesnt feel like playing 60 for the one time you see grass is worth. One fun tech i found rather helpful again tho was superpoly
@NEOH_Bwomp2 ай бұрын
@@AnkushV2 Super poly is okay. For the current format I do think it's a little underwhelming just because it alone can't break the Yubel board and the extra deck space has gotten tighter and tighter and it's hard to cut cards to fit in garura/mudragon. It's definitely a format/event dependant card as far as how much value it'll give you
@AnkushV22 ай бұрын
@@NEOH_Bwomp i see yeah, i also thought u could make chimera for some but i needs ur own cards so nvm, taking 3 would also be too broken 🤣 imma leave out super poly as well and make revert back to 48-50 card list from my 60 card grass pile

@@victormartinez8249 3 Saronir and 3 High Spirits was definitely something I had tested but it was harder to fit. I wanted to play a flat 50 but at the time I couldn't figure out the correct cut. 3/3 ratio on those is absolutely a good ratio in 50+ card lists, I just wasn't as satisfied as I wanted to be with the flat 50 lists I was testing in time for the event. It's definitely something I plan on revisiting and retesting based on what happened at the event
