this actually is true! maybe bargain shops have foods that are for export meaning the ingredients are actually different. if you compare the ingredients you'll probably see the are different or are in a different order (the highest quantity of ingredient is always listed first so some may have the the same but there may be more water or sugar or salt added to the one for export) and some labels actually say for export on the back or are in different languages :-)

with cheaper options they often contain palm oil, especially things like peanut butter. Check ingredients, and if you're in a position where you can switch to a version without palm oil, please do :))

Of course there's plenty of people out there who can't afford to switch from the cheaper options (I myself am from a minimum wage, single parent household, so I get how expensive living can be) but it's all supply and demand, so even just switching out a few products should make a difference

Its crap. Who can't tell the difference between Coke and non brand Cola's. Or Heinz Ketchup to other Ketchups!?! Yes some 'cheaper' unbranded look-a-likes taste ok and are a decent substitute. But I'd say at least 75% taste terrible and totally different to the branded goods. This is why it's still impossible to do a full shop at places like Aldi or Lidl. Too much ends in the bin because u know what ...... u would rather not have it than it pass your lips
