You really have a deep love for Alice Coltrane. She was a special lady I meet her in woodland hills California where she was living I lived up the street from her. I asked her if she would take me on as a student I didn't really think she would say yes But she did. My uncle was Louis Armstrong so of course I have jazz in my background and being from Louisiana that's about right. I also had the privilege of meeting Dorothy Ashby another beautiful sister. Dorothy was not feeling her best but I was blessed to have study with her a bit in Santa Monica California. And congratulations! to you young sister keep up the great work on our beloved instrument. I only recently learned of Brandee when she was interviewed on WPFW radio and of course was intrigued and educated regarding her background on becoming a harp player and her being influenced by Dorothy Ashby. A great example of why we need to support (financially) public radio! Hope to see her when she's in town this week. I've always loved hearing the flute also and really enjoyed Anne's playing! This is a great quartet and fantastic performance!

Brandee Younger and her trio is the New Kid on the Block in beautiful music. I've seen her yesterday on Dutch TV (North Sea Jazz Festival). My reaction was of WOW! A new real super talent made in 21st Century.

Great band. wonderful concept with Brandee´s harp. I play flute and saxes, and i really enjoyed Anne Drummond. Classical articulation used with jazz linear stuff was very illuminating for me. i have not heard anyone else go in that direction. Moody, Frank Wess, Rahsaan, Sam Most all played with a "Jazz" articulation . I think Hubert Laws and Joe Farell had a fusion of classic and jazz. Anne is on to something because she will play really percussively. Thanks for some beautiful music!
