NegaKega ネガケガ smells like fermenting corn, mealy and a bit pungent or how I remember it smells like it would be bitter to the taste, and you cant help but crave a tiny sample of the distilling mash, it’s a smell you never forget actually, kind of malty, potent and mildly funky, in a good way. if you want to sample whiskey, I’m pretty sure you have to leave their county first, or at least Lynchburg, I think its a dry town, I got a bottle of that spring water, I chugged it on the way to the Worlds Fair in Knoxville, Opryland, &!The Grand Ole Opry. (Loved The Hillbilly Bears and at one point I think I recognized a cast member of Hee- Haw! Buck Owens maybe? I was familiar with Roy Clark, Waylon, Willie, Hank Jr, Jenny Rogers, Merle, and David Allen Coe, even as a kid back then, I was a fan of course of Roger Miller, Jerry Reed, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, but it was during the Tennessee Worlds Fair, so we probably saw whoever was in the too 40, beyween 34-40! I started drinking alcohol years ago as a teenage, spent my whole life fighting alcohol addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. It's a common practice in whisky- and brandy-making. In some expressions, especially the rarer ones, you'd find eau-de-vie of over 50 years old. The age statement on single malt bottles is the age of the YOUNGEST whisky in the final mix. So chances are there are elements that are a lot older in there

and not stated, but you can buy a barrel in your own name,,,applied to it at the distillery,,,,,if you want to pay the extra price,,,or in cases with your name...or you can get the angel whiskey, stored at the top of the barns and with a bit of a different taste,, the angels get a share as the temps change most there and there is a part of it that escapes to the air. They also make a beer,,,a recent addition. Lotsa nice folks,,a great tour,, and smiling faces.

another note,,,Jack even controls the raising of the corn that goes into the mash. I live about 40miles from Jack. Large farmer here is one of the many who raise corn for Jack. Managers from the distillery come here to monitor corn planting, to specify how wide apart rows should be, how many seeds per foot and as it grows, they come to monitor how much fertilizer is added and when. The fields here are irrigated and the application of water and when and how much is controled also. At harvest time, Jack comes to check field moisture to say when corn is harvested. They also tell farmers how to set combine screens and shakers and blowers so that they get the very best kernels and very little trash. Corn is stored on the farm until needed and Jack comes again from time to time to check on quality and moisture content and specify how much air drying is needed and when. Farmers get much more for their corn than they would if it was raised and sold as regular cow and chicken feed......Farmer here is hard core life long Baptist,,,,just so you would know the whole story...

What I love about Jack's is that the last sip tastes just as wonderful as the first. I've tasted Glenmorangie extremely rare 18yr old whiskey - the first sip was just pure sintillating magic but after a while the taste changed, possibly due to oxidization, I dunno. The magic was gone from the bottle. Having a whiskey that tastes the same throughout the course of a bottle - that's really something.

Jack Daniel's has a unique flavor profile. I like the oak char and subtle banana. Love the No. 7 over ice. Gentleman Jack is quite nice also. Those who trash this whiskey are nuts.
