I remember walking into the theatre back in 1983 to see some other movie and there was a huge display for this movie in the lobby. I read the title out loud as we walked in, "Yor, the Hunter from the Future!" and looked at my friend. He was silent for a moment then said, completely deadpan, "No I'm not." I never did see it in the theatre but finally I did see it, just last year. I actually found it to be some cheesy, good fun.

Remember renting this from the video store myself, and thinking, "this movie is very stupid, but I just can't hate it." I was thirteen at the time, and had no idea how much eighties movies would mean to me down the road. Also, if this was truly based on a comic, I think we need a new movie with a better budget. I love when movies based on obscure comics are made well (of course, it might not be so obscure in Italy).

@@varanid9 Look up noah antwhiler . I siggest ypu to avoid the livestreams and check out first the Ultima Retrospective as a start because that stuff is still legendary and classic youtube gold . After that look up his movie- , company training videos- and videogame reviews. Very appreciated youtuber who reviews cult b-movies and Videogames back in the day but sadly a retired one with a backstory later on that brought him into his demise . But i hope that he put himself together and make new reviews . His comedy can be a bit outdated and the video quality isnt as fresh but the refferences and jokes are still classic.

Saw this in the theater when I was like 5 years old. My nostalgia lives in the bat glider scene.

Ah yes, nothing quite like a cheap, poorly-dubbed, foreign genre hybrid/knock-off from the mid-80's to close out the year, man. Can't wait to see what 2022 will bring on your show!

that was my introduction to Yor, too. I think for a lot of people. This is why I love Brandon's channel. He's keeping that old school snark, with simple production values, not over the top "influencing", just golden age internet vibes.

Saw this in the theater as a kid. My grandfather took me to see it. Ridiculous but fun Also apparently it was a mini series. There was more to it than this.

OMG...there were TV ads for this flick when I was a kid. I never saw it, but it was playing at the local theater back then and I WANTED to see it. Being a DnD/Scifi geek in the 80s was hard...we had to accept what we could get. It's only now, decades later that I realize not seeing YOR and MEGAFORCE in a theater was probably for the best. Happy New Year!

6:23 This moment right here from a review of this in the early days of youtube is what got me interested enough in this movie to track down a copy and watch it with me and my friends. We laughed our asses off at the poor oily rag mummies forced to live in a cave with puddles of gasoline on the floor. Yor, he's the man!
