Reference is different from writing, I’d listen to Drakes Mob Ties 1Mx before I’d listen to that “leak” by Vory, I listen to PND more than any artist, he’s “wrote” or gave references to Drake, I’d listen to Party any day but Drakes version of the songs were better. Drake will make a small song big learn the Industry. He’s a good actor but he didn’t write the script. Should we take any credit away from him because he was instructed and told to give the look or emotions he did?

People misinterpret Drake having writers. His songs are not completely written by other people. He will get a song from someone and rework it and rewrite it to be his own. This happens with lots of rappers. Drake has also done this very thing for other rappers and singers. Drake wrote “I’m Single” for Lil Wayne, lots of shit for Kanye, “Unthinkable” for Alicia Keys, and “Fall For Your Type” for Jamie Foxx. Drake is not a rapper who doesn’t write. He’s written hits for other people. He’s a collaborator. Not like Bow Wow who’s verses are written entirely by JD, Brat and Pimpin from Franchise Boys.

They been taking melodies and flows and lyrics and flippin it. The birth of Hip-Hop & rap was literally founded on sampling and interpolating chopped up beats & percussion mixed with melodies and lyrics from various genres that came before it. That goes for lyrics and flows too. Do your research on the most famous Hip-Hop artists and start from the 90s all the way up to now. You'll see🤷‍♂️ and while you're at it, go and research Drake's discography and those he wrote for. It's all there in black and white, there's video evidence too, there's interviews by other artists, publications, articles and Wikipedia. Also to be clear, everybody in the music industry today is an artist. An artist in the context of music either creates the music & lyrics or contributes to the process of music creation in some type of way. Arguing whether to call them rappers or singers is just semantics at this point.
