This is why, even though it's not been my scene in well over a decade, I'll always have a spot in my heart for juggalos. Having been one at one point, still knowing and being friends with several, I can honestly say that there really is something to it all. The first people to help me out when I'm in a bad place? Juggalos. The most ride-or-die friends I have? Juggalos. It's just a level of loyalty and heart that I've never seen from any other fanbase, and most of the time it doesn't have shit to do with the music, it's just mostly normal folks looking out for each other and having fun doing it. Who can hate on that?

I first met Juggalos as an embedded journalist at Occupy Berkeley and, while they seem crazy, they were the kindest and caring people I ever met. Some hipster "anarchist" guy tried to run up on me while I was doing an interview and three Juggalo homies pounced on him. When the fake-anarchists raided the camp and tried to retaliate later that week, a couple Juggalos protected my tent and equipment because I always talked to them with compassion and curiosity (Why Faygo? What was the root of the Eminem beef? What is the Dark Carnival?), shared my weed with them and never snitched on them to the boomer-hippies who tried to control the camp.
@nickschiller10805 ай бұрын
Faygo is Pop from here in Detroit and is awesome and has so many flavors. Eminem looked up to ICP and they were already pretty big doing their thing and Eminem was just getting started out he put ICPs name on his flyer saying they might appear when he did it without their opinion, he went out to Violent J and showed him the flyer and J said why you put our name on here without permission and tossed it in the air and walked away. The Dark Carnival is what any Juggalo may perceive the Dark Carnival to be, it's different for many.

Brandon, thank you so much for this video dude.. First, rest in peace to Donovon. What a heart of gold! The ending had me in tears!! But Im also in tears because I went to the 2023 Gathering and it was also my first. My girlfriend and I took a huge chance and flew all the way from Alaska to be there, and to help overcome our nerves, we found your previous gathering videos and watched the heck out of them. ICP played two nights and at the first set, I had VIP… just before the Faygo Armageddon, I asked my girlfriend to marry me and she said yes! She was a casual ICP fan going there but she is now full-blown juggalo. We both have hatchet man tattoos now. We met some absolutely incredible people and had pretty much the greatest experience of our lives. We looked EVERYWHERE for you but couldn’t freakin find you!!! We decided at the airport that we are going back in 2024 and it doesn’t matter what it takes to get there, we are doing it again and I’m hoping to bring a bunch of other Alaskans with me!! I sincerely hope you go in 2024, it’d be cool to be able to thank you for helping us prep for that experience!! I’ve been waiting for this video, man. Thank you so much! Whoop whooooooooop!!!

Im really excited to see you two again next year and appreciate how much you love your woman 🩶Thanks for sharing-so much fun watching your love story unfold. congratulations (again)! ps- my first gotj was 2003, i believe it was the first year at nelson ledges and i had no close juggalo firiends besides an ex bf but i had recently discovered their live shows and i really wanted to go. the lineup that year was insane, odb, vanilla ice, terry funk, dusty roades, just to name a few and showing the lineup and activities to my best girlfriend (who had never heard of icp) and she ended up coming with me to 3 gatherings total!

Kinda got a Fear and Loathing vibe. I remember Donovan aka Cripp Daddy posting moments from this event and talking about it afterwards. He had a blast and genuinely loved it. He was a hilarious dude and I miss him.

This was so hectic and chaotic that I was not anticipating it ending on such a touching, moving note. It was kinda beautiful to watch two buddies live out a dream and have silly fun together

AYO DONOVAN GANG!!! This dude makes me proud to be named Donovan. This was so fucking funny and heart warming, Shit sucks to hear he passed man. Also sick fucking brand of sacrifice behind his left ear. I have one behind my right ear. He is literally me in a different body, I wish i could have gotten to meet him dude. I used to kick it with a few juggalos and almost went to the gathering one year.
