Actually most songs just uses the four chords of a key
@yannickandrle7402
@yannickandrle7402 4 жыл бұрын
@@123akash121 ... four chords of a key? What's dat? Let's take a look at the good old major scale... hmmmm... C major... (German musical education, sorry for the German terms) - 1 (Tonika) C major 2 (Subdominantparallele) d minor 3 (Dominantparallele) e minor 4 (Subdominante) F major 5 (Dominante) G major 6 (Tonikaparallele) a minor 7 h (diminished) (This position is usually modified for function) This is without any modified chords. Now, obviously, some keys have more/less/different chords and this is a simplified explanation, but I dunno what your ''four chords of a key'' are supposed to be. It should be 7 or 8 chords of a major key.

@@yannickandrle7402 Yannick Andrle I think he was talking about the various permutations of the I V vi IV chord progression that are used in most pop songs
@HyenaFox
@HyenaFox 4 жыл бұрын
@@yannickandrle7402 he was doing that stupid hot take where you point out how most pop music uses the same chord progression, 1, 4, 6, 5. I don't know why this is somehow like a unique or shocking thing to point out, because jazz has been using variations of 2-5-1 and 6-3-2-5-1/6-2-3-5-1 progressions for EVER.
@mikkelhansen3714
@mikkelhansen3714 4 жыл бұрын
Yannick Andrle he doesn’t mean “the” four chords of a key as he writes. He means that most pop songs only uses ‘the same’ four chords of any given key which is quite true and really repetitive to listen to. The repetitiveness and lack of melody is why pop music has gone down the drain even though it in aome cases surprisingly sounds good.

Hi Brandon. I'm a 65 yr old jazz guitarist who has been a teacher and performer all my adult life. I have had to retire early due to several serious health issues. You've done a great job of getting the reality out there on what it takes just to be ok or better in the music world. Your time into this is very obvious to me and just wanted to say "hi" and wish you continued success. The angry guitar guy works in my opinion since it's done in a tongue in cheek fashion. Keep it up. Happy everything !

Great video man! I would have to disagree on a bunch of these songs however because they are only memorable for being a hit song, some were just revamped and reused old chord progressions. Some of these were absolutely spot on though good job!
