Thank you for doing the tests Brandon. I'm definitely on the lookout for 'my first gimbal'. And I'm glad I did wait because there has obviously been a lot of growing pains with pistol grip gimbals (and I suppose with two handed gimbals too. The Movi v1 which I've had my hands on was overly complex, and the Ronin was a cheaper alternative but it had plenty of bugs). The Nebula was a nightmare, and many of the clones using the same encoders were built more for engineers than operators (like the Pilotfly H2, that has endless amounts of insane settings that are near impossible to decipher). So I'm looking forward to what you have to say about the Crane V2. As I think those will probably be the two big ones to look out for at least in terms of the near future. All that said, hope your reviews come quick!

Hi everyone! Let me share with you my story of Moza Air. I watched this video and since I'm a big Brandon's fan I decided to buy Moza Air. I went to a store, I also happened to test the gimbal there, but of course with a store's camera. So, everything looked grate, all movements seemed very smooth. I was happy. Then, I returned home with my new Moza Air and was in a hurry to try it with my camera. I put on it my Sony a6300 with a prime lens 24mm f1.8 (total wight is 650g), properly balanced it and started shooting. When I watched the footage on my computer I really was upset and frustrated, because it was sucks. After that I put my kit lens 16-50mm which has optical steadyshot, but it also didn't work, the image still remained terrible with micro-shaking. First off, I thought that perhaps it's because of my Sony a6300 doesn't have a built-in stabilisation and my prime lens also doesn't have steadyshot.I continued my investigation and became to find people's feedbacks that Moza Air doesn't work good with too light cameras and lenses as I have. Also I assumed that maybe my Moza Air has a defect and I went to the store to check it. I tested the another one and the result was the same, there was a micro shaking in the image. My seller in Hong Kong refused to return money, but suggest me to change the gimbal to any other product. I started to watch Crane v2's reviews and read tons of feedback and came to conclusion that I need to change my Moza Air to Crane v2. I successfully got Crane v2 and everything changed. It really works much better with my wight. So, keep it in mind when you make choice. I hope that my experience will be useful for you.

After another couple hours "piloting" the Moza Gimbal, I have learned some very important lessons about super, super, super micro adjustments in balancing. Making the camera "float" in 3D space-ala the gimbal axis arms go a long way. I think a lot of people need to spend a complete day learning how to balance the Moza Air before even turning it on (myself included). After focusing on making the camera balance easily, so much so, that if you move it into a different position, it will still float, helped me immensely. Had a "noob" moment today, but I'm better for it.

Just so you know, I purchased and just received my moza from your affiliate link in your description and my moza arrived without a tripod. You may want to change your link, :( Theres newer versions of this available...Side note: This does not work with gh5 metabones and sigma art 18-35. Biggest lens that fits is the canon 16-35 L with ND filter.
@JamieFenn7 жыл бұрын
Welp, just got the zhiyun v2 and now going to get this because of the payload weight. Cant use half of the gear I have which is disappointing... (gh5 with 16-35 with metabones) is what I used most of the time, and can't use that combo on the v2. Returning and getting this. thanks for the video!
@BrandonLiUnscripted7 жыл бұрын
For heavier rigs this is definitely a better gimbal. If I was using just a lighter rig like a6500, Crane v2 would be appealing because it's lighter and shorter with better battery life.
@JamieFenn7 жыл бұрын
Brandon Li I just ordered it. I really like the fact it doesn't do that jitter stutter movement when you do those extreme angles you mentioned as well. Zhiyun just said they will be releasing the crane 2 at the end of the month (which confused me, I thought the v-2was the crane 2) but I guess I'll see how i like this one. 🙏

im shooting with the gh4 and dec lens regain with 16-35mm do you think the Zhiyun crane is better than the moza for this? I asked because you have a similar setup. Thanks
@JamieFenn7 жыл бұрын
I think the gh4 is a tad bit lighter. But Im not exactly sure how the camera will balance. I realized once I had the metabones, 16-35 L and then ND filter, there was no way to get it to fit. So if I were you, Id go with the moza...

I was somewhat surprised about your comment about the dual handle not making shots any steadier. Your test footage does indeed look very steady using the single handle, but I'm not sure how much that is due to the camera's IBIS and your experience as a gimbal operator. In my case as an inexperienced operator using the Moza with a heavy 5D4 setup (IS lens but obviously no IBIS) using the dual handles resulted in significantly steadier shots; so for people like me, at least, they do have significant value. That said, I very much agree that they're not really practical to use in run and gun situations.

Thanks Brandon, just bought the Nebula 5100 and I'm happy with it. It even handles quiet well the Sony AsII plus the heavy lens G-Master 24-70mm f2.8. Of course there are also the same problem like with the Moza when you hold it vertical, but all other crazy moves are working very well even with the heavy lens and perfect if you use the 16-35mm. It's a little bit heavier than the other one-hand-gimbals and I need to get used to the pistol handle in the beginning, but it's just awesome now. I also bought and tested the Zhiyun Crane V2, but I will sell it again now because after all testing I like the Nebula 5100 more. Looking forward what are your thoughts and review on these guys ;)

In previous videos or in your comments you have talked about ease of setup and use for various gimbals. In particular, how much time must be spent on things like software settings, etc. For an amateur like me, this is important. I don't want to spend hours frustrated while I struggle to get everything to work right. For me, the ease of setup of the Zhiyun seemed really attractive. I am planning to buy a Zhiyun, but thought I would wait and compare the latest options. When you review those other gimbals, could you also compare the ease of setup and use? For me, the more idiot proof the better. Thanks for all your videos. I find them really helpful.

Lots of people are confused with the V2 and the Crane 2. I think they did a bad job at naming their products.

Sampat Shetty yes, a little bit confusing and still not much information. Let's wait and see :) I think it will be available on November 1st.

Yeah, I was gonna buy the Crane V2 for my A6500 with 18-105mm lens. But now I think I am gonna wait for the Crane 2.

Nice review! Have the Moza Air on top of my list...but there are a lot of things which aren't that good :/

The smaller gimbals are all still sort of science experiments these days. You gotta pick which flaws you can live with.
