I always appreciate learning about people and places that I've read in the Bible and skimmed over due to my own ignorance. Knowledge of time and place makes the authority and reality of scripture come to life. You are a very fine teacher. Scholarly yet sounding like a guy I would enjoy having coffee with given he opportunity. Thank you for your work. Let's go be a blessing.

This was a great summary to show the interrelations of these important disciples and the roles they played. Along with The Chosen's depiction, it made it real about what they were going thru in the years after Yeshua's death & resurrection. Now as I read Acts & the Epistles these names won't be something I just sort of brush off as just some names on a page. Understanding the landscape, geography, history, and politics of the era paints a more complete picture and understanding. In a way, it brings shalom 😊.

What you said about letters and share what things were said or left out and how someone else filled in a detail that was left out, is kind of like how the synoptic gospells fit together....filling in and adding details one might have left out.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26 NIV

You made some really powerful points in this video. You are a faithful worker for the gospel. Thank you. And, might I ask if you are dwelling on future topics of interest, and since you fill in rarely thought about details, please consider doing a topic study on how the gospel was financed? Since you brought up the truth that many of these early gospel workers knew each other and traveled with each other, such things cost money. We know that Paul probably had to work as a tent maker to finance himself occasionally. We also know that money was transferred from one region to another to support churches who needed it. The concept of tithing may have been introduced from Jewish believers. So I wonder how it all really worked. I don't believe it worked then like it does now, and I have been really curious about this. Just consider the idea please...

Thank you Brandon for another excellent lesson and application to today. Formerly I believed the greatest danger to American christians was the influences of materialism and hypersexualization. Now I fear the poisonous political partisanship encourages us and justifies us hating and creating divisions - even with other believers. Proverbs 6 Nothing against my brethren who have strong beliefs and participate in politics. It’s just our label should start with “Christian” then political affiliation. Not the other way around. Our citizenship is first with God. Our path and actions should mirror love, mercy and forgiveness lived by our Savior and freely given to us.

I have been looking for a confirmation of this but cannot find it anywhere. There is no mention of this from secular historians like Suetonius and early Christian writers make no mention of this. What is the source of this information? Plus, Tiberius was the reigning emperor when Jesus was crucified. Why would he deify someone executed by the Romans in Judea?

An excellent appeal to believers to do the Lord's will and to avoid partisan divides of any sort other than dividing the way of Jesus from the way of the world. Praise Jesus and do not criticize sinners as you were once the sinner! Jesus has shown His mercy, kindness and forgiveness to you. Show the same to those around you. Outside of the mercies of Christ we are all without hope. Be fruitful and multiply the kingdom of God! Be salty, it makes people thirsty! Let them drink from the fountain of life giving waters which should be flowing from your belly. It that water is not flowing from your belly please reconcile yourself to Christ anew, rededicate yourself and repent from your failures because Jesus wants to save as many as possible and you are who He can use to accomplish His goals. You are the salt of the earth! You are the chosen ones! Realize you are in an epic war against unseen forces and pray without ceasing. Put on the armor of God and do battle against the evil of this world. Oh Lord God in Jesus' name strengthen us to do your will!

I have a question that is not related to Tychicus. You explained what parts of the Jewish Holy Books that Jesus took the Our Father from. What about the extra lines "For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen"? Where do these words come from? Thank you for your answers.

Please provide a source for your information that Tiberius sought to deify Jesus. I cannot find it in either secular or early Christian writings. It is confusing because Tiberius was emperor when Jesus was crucified. It seems odd that the fellow in charge would want to deify someone who was put to death as a criminal in his domain.

I would love to see St John Mark portrayed in the show. According to tradition Mark was a rich pre teen boy when Jesus started his ministry. Probably the young boy who fled naked leaving his rich linen cloth(1st century rich Jewish boys pajamas) behind. Son of Mary and Aristopulous and with double cultural background. I really would love to see the writer of the first gospel ever written.

He is wearing a hoodie which was not a fashion until the low Middle Ages , a lot of out of era fashions , attitude and concepts in the show. The Fish symbol was not used until 120 AD, 10 years after John died. There were no secret passwords for Christians in 48AD. There were some code words like Babylon for ROME and Angel for leader of the church or bishop. The great persecution of Christians by Rome didn't start until after the Coliseum was finished in 80AD. John was still alive.

True - and if you look at the whole series, you see a lot of anachronisms like this. Tells me this is not a documentary, but a TV show. I enjoy the message, without all such details. The invitation given to Peter in Samaria is one of my favourite, though, as it is totally correct - well except being part if the show's script, not any gospel text I know of. Happy 2022!
@texaslocoman13 жыл бұрын
@@pierrealberson4657 Well yes, it's a show. But a show that depicts our LORD, His Blessed Mother and His apostles. Many people on the spiritual fence are watching this show. People with weak spiritual foundation in the true gospel can be deceived to believe biblical, doctrinal and historical falsehoods. Not the ones who have firm foundation on Christ but millions with weak foundation might be deceived into a New Age Hippie Jesus and a avant guarde St Peter or a mundane Blessed Mother with ear piercings and mundane thoughts.. Great show nevertheless, well done, great performances. Just, maybe not well documented or advised.
