Definitely should take it to the dyno soon, I wanna see if all these bolt on mods are really making a difference! I have similar mods on my Corolla and I’d love to see your dyno results
@MichaelGG1232 жыл бұрын
It’s pretty expensive. Considering the value of the car (no hate at all) it may not be worth it. If he had a turbo or something it’s definitely worth it.
@BrandonStellmach2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I want to do it soon, because i want to know as well how much the bolts have done!
@BrandonStellmach2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have heard people pay like 200-300 dollars just for like 30 minutes on a dyno. It’s really not worth it, but would be interesting to see. But your right maybe when I get a turbo it’s worth doing it!

@SameLif3check out AMT Tuning, I know they will tune corollas. And they should be able to get rid of the limit.

Good content as always! (your always two steps ahead of me and my 2010 Corolla S) On the solenoids though. I believe but not totally sure, that it allows the cam gear and cam shaft relationship to adjust earlier than stock via solenoid adjusting cam gear earlier by that extra port you showed us. @rachetsandwrenches has a good video explaining the stock function of vvti. So I guess the power would come in slightly earlier? Could be a good future supporting mod if aftermarket grows!
@BrandonStellmach2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good explanation of how it works, like you said it’s something like that. But I will have to look up that video and watch it! But that’s what I was thinking, it should be a good supporting mod for the future!
@123devinzz1 Жыл бұрын
solenoids do not decide when and how much the vvti is used. the ecu reads cam position sensors and will position cams to an exact degree. only real gain you could see with these solenoids is maybe a fraction of a second better response changing the cam timing. having worn oem solenoids that often have a couple hundred thousand miles on them will exaggerate that gain.
@xELITExNIKOLAIx2 жыл бұрын
You should do a throttle body spacer. I know they’re not really for HP gain, but I hear that induction noises get better. I was considering getting one just to make the car more fun with induction noise

I was considering one of them, so maybe I will do that in the future!

I have a 2010 manual and the best mod i've done is the q-revs rev-hang delete module. allows for quicker shifting more like an old school manual that doesn't have an electric throttle body. hit me up if you want more info

Taiwan makes some good stuff. I installed projector headlights on my 9th gen Corolla (DEPO) brand. I think Toyota actually makes a.lot of stuff in Taiwan. On a side note, I noticed baby booster seat - I believe the center seat is the safest position. Also allows you to keep eye on baby

From what I believe in 2019 Toyota put a different engine in the corolla. But if you want to verify, I would contact redbullet and see if they know if they will fit!

@BrandonStellmach Жыл бұрын
With how much they cost now, they are not worth it. There might be a slight power increase, but it’s hard to actually tell. In the video It seemed to feel a little more peppy, but not anything that is worth the price tag!

I’ve been sitting on solenoids for a minute curious to know how it affects performance
@BrandonStellmach2 жыл бұрын
They seem to add a little bit of performance, not anything drastic. It’s just a great mod to add if your looking for as much HP with just bolt ons.

I believe it took around 7-10 days. It’s been a while since I bought them.

Placebo effect always feels pretty good! I hate to say it, but salespeople see you coming from a mile away. There are multiple reasons why it’s snake oil. But I guess it’s shiny, so that counts for something right? Unfortunately they’re not likely to be as reliable as the OEM ones. 🤷♂️ I’m curious, do you even know the RPMs or conditions in which the VVTI solenoids engage? FYI, they physically operate in opposite directions (1 advances and 1 retards) and never in tandem. You will never “feel” any difference in the exhaust solenoid. And thanks to cam position sensors, the ecu will quickly counteract whatever advertised benefit you think you’re getting from it.
@BrandonStellmach Жыл бұрын
Yeah I figured it was more of a placebo affect when I installed these. But this company doesn’t claim to gain much power from them, as like the other company who makes these days you can gain 20HP. Which is hard to believe. But I look at it like this, the original ones had about 140K Miles, not sure how well the oil was changed before me. So it’s like replacing them with new clean ones. So hopefully that would help with the VVTI system. As for the VVTI system I believe kicks on between 3-4k rpm. But you really don’t notice that big of a difference!
@bobbylauz11212 жыл бұрын
Ay man im thinking of buying these for my 09 corolla i was wondering which option you choose on the red bullet site? Single solenoid or duel solenoid or duel solenoid both ? Id like to get it set up just as you did and i was just wanting to confrim before i order.
@BrandonStellmach2 жыл бұрын
The website is worded very weirdly. But you are going to want to get dual solenoid-both. Which will include both of the intake and exhaust solenoids. The single solenoid is for the older corollas. Which only came with one VVTI solenoid.

@lolwhodis7817 Жыл бұрын
Also i think they went up in price too, debating whether to get it
@BrandonStellmach Жыл бұрын
You will want to choose both if you want to get both of them. Otherwise choose either exhaust or intake for individual ones. But looking at them it does seem like the price went up drastically. I think I paid around $300 for both of them, and now it’s $500. For the price, it doesn’t give you as much of a HP gain.
