Replaced my Whoop with an Apple Watch and the Bevel app. It's just as comprehensive as Whoop and more intuitive app UI in my opinion. And its only $6 a month as opposed to $30. Absolute steal by comparison

Is‘nt a  watch also a tech subscription? I mesn most people replace theirs after some years for the new one. So just divide the buying price by the months you owned it and you got your „apple watch subscription price“. I paid 680€ for my last one and had it for 4 years. That would be a monthly price of about 14€

The Whoop Band is very appealing because of the data that they produce. Seems to be better than those on the AW, however I don’t really want to pay for yet another subscription.

A very important question that could confirm my choice of this watch: if I wear my Oura Ring for sleep, can the data linked to the Health app be combined with the data I get from my Apple Watch Ultra? So that I don't have to wear the watch to sleep but it still takes my sleep data into account. Does anyone have the answer?

You could just use something like a polar verity sense or other small HR monitor that hangs on the arm and connect it to the watch for activities like jiujitsu. That will eliminate the need for an expensive subscription if you are only using the whoop for this.

@@BrandonTalbotPolar or Coros’ bands as input into Apple Health end up being similar to what you described with Whoop’s hardware. They get out of the way without a subscription, and now that Apple is adding better support for activity tracking and recovery, it is working out as a decent middle ground.

Apple Watch with bevel is great for me, I have constant heart tracking, enabling the afib detection feature increased considerably the amount of measurements for heart rate and hrv which makes bevel reports even better and more reliable. I wear both, and my biggest issue has been accuracy of the whoop while wearing on the wrist. Whoop never matches my Apple Watch or my chest heart rate strap. My whoop will not catch the peaks and tends to lag behind no matter how tight I wear it. I should not have to wear it on my bicep to make it “more accurate.”

Now that I think about my friend is not in the beta and he gets sleep disturbances. Apparently, you need to have 30 days of sleep data before you get a sleep apnea detection and if you don’t have it you won’t get an alert anyway. Are you getting the sleep disturbances? You have to add that to your Apple health on your glances like Garmin to see them.

On the connection between whoop and apple health does it work in the inverse way? Like if you wear the watch the whoop will read in the work out data. Also if you just wear the whoop and no apple watch and don't do a workout would it still update the rings?

I've gone back and forth with these devices so much.. Apple watch in the gym with the Hevy app is what keeps me using AW. It's just so nice to see my routine on my wrist and make changes on the fly if needed. Whoop has been very slow to update it's strength training. If they just let you start a weightlifting workout and add your strength trainer routine while working out so you can see your routine and make changes while working out without having to start stop sets it would be great. BUT if Garmin ever fixes their garbage strength training I'd probably ditch apple and whoop.
@BrandonTalbot
@BrandonTalbot 4 күн бұрын
I hear ya: if you watch my last whoop video, they added an update to where you can add your strength workout after you’ve finished. Negating the stupid start stop nonsense and still get the muscle/cardio strain score
@dshpeegz
@dshpeegz 4 күн бұрын
@@BrandonTalbot Yeah I've been using that and it's a HUGE step in the right direction. But I'd like to have the Weightlifting workout open and then attach my routine while working out instead of after. This way I can see my routine and make changes while working out if I need to then just hit finish workout and it's all there to process.
