Random place to put this question, but I figured someone would maybe know. Why is it that mega gengar's cp is solely based off of the gengar's IV? All the other megas as far as I can tell is based on the pokemon's cp when it is mega evolved. I had just caught a hundo gastly today and evolved it, but the gengar is only 300 something cp; if I mega evolve it rn it would be 4614 cp. Vs a shiny beedrill I normally use to flex being 2* having a higher mega cp than my purified hundo beedrill (because its cp is lower). Just curious if anyone else noticed that difference, and if they knew if it was purposeful or not.

There's a group of people out there that gathers data from players from all over to research and compile a guesstimate of shiny rates. You can look up The Silph Road for this group of researchers.
