This is what tile IX was supposed to do. So many schools cut programs, instead of adding programs. My school JMU has a wining program and it got dropped. The tried to go to club status, but it fizzled. Maybe some of the big programs that lost wrestling will bring women's programs. Then they can reinstate the men. Brands is great and blunt. "This is what you do."

Makes sense. Iowa needed to add a female sport and they chose woman wrestling. I bet the woman's team will probably also be national champs. Wrestling is for winners in Iowa.

@@佐藤武志-q9l my daughter is at Simon Fraser. They seem to be solid right now but competition is gonna get fierce soon for new recruits. They currently offer what we believe is the best education opportunity combined with a strong women’s program compared to the schools you mentioned.

I'm repulsed by all these comments! Bunch of jack wipe comments that have no idea about women's wrestling. Hello people Women's wrestling has been an Olympic sport for how long??? Get out of the ice age. The HAWKEYES have been sponsoring women since 2017 DUH. If you don't want to watch it then don't, but don't take away from women and what this great sport offers all. Oh by the way, women wrestle FREESTYLE in college, now complain about that too. THIS IS A GOOD THING!! THANK YOU IOWA.

My sons and grandsons wrestle and coach. In recent years there have been an increasing number of young women participating. The young women have some success at the grade school level but once they reach high school they get crunched. This will give the girls something to shoot for. I just hope the participants are all "biological" females.If not it will get ugly.

The people who sue on behalf of Title IX won't be happy that adding women's wrestling is part of the settlement. Not one of the groups involved in Title IX legal issues and challenges has ever supported women's wrestling and it's not an "acceptable" sport for them to support for more women's opportunities. If you aren't softball or women's basketball, these Title IX legal groups really want nothing to do with you.
