How does braking work on the rails with loaded cars? Do you put it into neutral and apply the brakes or keep it in gear?
@BrandtGroupofCompanies2 жыл бұрын
Hi Derek, Great question! The purpose-built 26C brake system on the Brandt R4 achieves maximum train stopping power while ensuring positive control of the trailing railcars. We recommend keeping the truck in gear to use the certified hi-rail/train brakes first, and supplement with the truck brakes if required. To speak with a R4 specialist, please don't hesitate to call our toll-free number 1-888-2-BRANDT (1-888-227-2638) or send Bruce an email at bdagenais@brandt.ca.

I see they have a train braking system for the cars I'm quite familiar with running locomotives for 35 years.

so that's how they get excavators on top of rail cars. I've always wondered.
