I absolutely love her too, and I don't say that easily as I am not much of a country music fan. Bandy Clark's songwriting is extremely intelligent. Her music is like old school outlaw country combined with folk punk. Give it time and we'll talk about Brandy Clark the same way we talk about Loretta Lynn or Tammy Wynette.

Brandy, you SO need to write a song about the experience of growing uo gay in a dmall rural town, from different points of view. The view of the person in question, their mother, their father, etc.

Coming in from the future to say that Brandy's later albums (Your Life Is a Record, also, the 2023 self-titled album) is based on her own life experiences. While I love her early work like Stripes and Hold My Hand, it's definitely refreshing to see Brandy now writing songs about herself, for herself and many other queer country fans like me :)
