It was literally the best surprise of the night for me. I grew up with Brandy and she has always been one of the classiest best representations of black women in the industry. She was shut out by the industry for not showing off her body for religious reasons. They kept her in R&B cause they said her records wouldn’t sell as a rapper. She lost the passion to put out music obviously, dealing with that nonsense🙄 Give her the platform she always deserved!!! Right!! Idk what the internet has on it but I remember hearing it on the radio back when her Tv show was on cable. Radio hosts were slamming her for using religion as an excuse not to advance her career. Saying she should just do a bikini cover and get it over with, she could be an A-list star. She did photo shoots but nothing was scandalous about her. It made the public bored in corporate eyes. Truth was we always adored Brandy, our best Cinderella. Brandy is a true one
