There are also 2 openings of the anime adaptation and both of them are great. Adaptation had 24 episodes and was animated by ufotable (the one who did fate and KnY.. Also if you missed out , Symphonia also got an anime adaptation and have 3 openings. and yup, the transformations are actually an ingame mechanic.

@@shiori2182 Dude, why only mention Symphonia when even Tales of Abyss have an anime adaptation of 20+ episodes? The same goes for Tales of Eternia- one only has to visit the Tales of KZbin Channel to check them out- or at least do a google seach of Tales games with anime adaptations. BranOnline could've also done a quick search of Tales of Zestiria to know that this has an anime- since 2016? It's like saying he doesn't know enough of Zestiria to even know there's an anime. I feel like it's deliberate- and kinda insulting if you have have this reaction in a real social setting when you shake hands with a famous musician and say in a crass, albeit innocent way- "Oh, I love the violin, do you play the violin?" and the person happens to be no less than a violinist. It's like telling the person without wanting to seem insulting that "you ain't famous, sorry- so I don't know you actually. I'm just shaking hands to be respectful and all."

I love this game some didnt like it but I did! The transformation is a mechanic in the game and it is so cool! It has a full length anime that kinda reworks the plot but same overall plot. It also got an ova/movie before the anime that covers the beginning of the game! Amazing reaction and only two more to go!

The transformasi that you see is actually mechanic on the game you can transform into 4 type of form which involves element like fire will be a sword type, earth will be knuckle type, water is bow type, and wind is a flying sword type and you can transform all you want on the gameplay

@@destroyerinazuma96 That's the ANIME version- and it doesn't even UNDERSTAND that part of the lore of Zestiria, which includes how Shepherds are hardly perfect saviors (look at Artorius from Berseria). Their wish to save "everyone" is what got them so warped and twisted. Unlike those previous Shepherds, Sorey didn't go to such lengths as to save or purify everyone or everything, knowing he has limitations as a human. The anime ruined that part when it made Sorey so invincible that he even managed to help Eizen with his curse.

*Tales of Zestiria* "Legends Beget Hope" The 15th title, Zestiria is a bit of an odd one. When I say odd, I mean it used to be kinda controversial. Opening is absolutely bangin', but has any Tales opening so far *not* been cool? If there's a title that made people very split on it, it's this one. Some HATE it, some LOVE it. Some are in the middle. I personally have critique too but it's hardly the worst game ever. It's cute that you think it's Jude still. But no! This is another protagonist, Sorey! Him and Rose (the girl with dark red hair at 1:04) can basicly 'fuse' with the other characters. Each Tales game have a gameplay gimmick to be different each title and never be boring. Zestiria's gimmick is basicly 'fusing' with your party members to power yourself up and gain their elemental abilities. Those other characters as seen throughout are basicly spirits in a way. They can't be seen by regular humans. They each represent an element which you can probably tell from their colors! Water, Fire, Earth and Wind. You can probably figure out who is what element. Just look at their outfit colors :P There is an anime of this one, but it's even more of a controversial one than the game itself. Zestiria is already a mixed bag for many, then you get an anime that is even MORE of a mixed bag. I'm on Twitter posting alot about Tales with Tales mutuals and having a good time. And even the biggest Zestiria fans I know HATE the anime.

atleast I can say this, at least the anime "didn't do Alicia dirty". They really REALLY did Alisha dirty in the game. Release an OVA with the earlier parts of the game, which has Alisha and Sorey. Turns out Alisha is temporary and NEVER will join the party in game, besides the DLC in the anime, She was treated better, and was able to Armatize with the rest, when she cannot in game XD

@@Kaimax61 That running complaint of "doing Aisha dirty" (wonder why your spelling of Alisha's name is so wrong) is an OLD RANT THAT HAS NO MERIT. Alisha was realistically portrayed as a princess of lower rank who can't succeed to the throne by virtue of the corrupt and "men only" politics of the times. Royalty wasn't so "politically correct" as it is now- and that's how the game realistically portrayed her. Most game fans just got fixated on Alisha for her character design, forgetting that she was a minor character with no references in Berseria- but was given a dlc for Alisha-only fans. I can't forgive the fans for sending DEATH threats to the producer and the staff, including Rose's character design. Childish much? The anime did a LOT OF REWRITING for Alisha fans to the point that Ufotable made a nuanced remark about it in the last episode. Even when the seraphim are much more important to the story, they had to be shoved to the sidelines to make way for a princess- even letting her armatize for ALL THE ILLOGICAL REASONS only Alisha-fans can justify. If she's important to the lore- how come she didn't have references in Berseria, the prequel, unlike the OTHER MORE important characters?

They had been merging. This tales game includes a mechanic where you fuse with a spirit like being for another form. It does have a show but it doesnt do it much justice. Its only 13 episodes and isnt very good if I remember right. Most of the tales games despite being in an anime style have anime series counterparts that do not do them justice. I am no expert and really have only played a couple not even 100% but would love to if I owned them still. The anime series for this game should have used this opening but got a new one. This games anime is called tales of zesteria the x.

Even if this game is probably worst tales of, I love characters, story has not a special energy like other games but themes are enjoyable and little develop so it's very cool, the end is good for the reste. Alisha :( it's my only sadness on game. Gameplay was nice also. Cinematics are good and nice music.

Alisha is a mere side character who was given a dlc precisely because she's ONLY a side character, as explained by Hideo Baba and staff. She had no references in Berseria, the prequel, unlike the other characters. And there's no such thing as "the worst Tales game" unless you think that your own choices and preferences are a standard for every Tales gamer.

Shame the game isn't as good as the soundtrack or the insane opening. Compared to all the tales of games I have played it is by far the weakest, and sits in a very small list of games that I have started and not finished. Got a good 24 hours in.

Tales of Zestiria is one of the most endearing (since I'm not allowed to say "the best") in the Tales franchise if you ask me. But why do some pro-Vesperia and Symphonia fans prefer to call this game the "black sheep" of Tales (according to that one Tales critic whose words became a meme echoed everywhere else)? I'll give you many reasons for that- and believe me, it's not even the fault of the game- but of a trend I would call GAME SHAMING popularized by haters and which seems to be tolerated and welcomed even by the "smarter" ones in this field: 1. The RESEMBLANCE with older tales characters just irked the fandom. To prove the backlash, Zesty is the ONLY Tales game that was accused of being a "fake" Tales game by Tales fans of Vesperia and Symphonia, mostly (I have Abyss fans biting my head off too- but they're less toxic than the rest of the fandom. If you want to read fan reactions proving this point, some are still posted in steam discussions, gamefaqs, Tales reviews and reddit.) Actually this is IRONIC. How can it be a fake game when Zestiria borrows "lore" elements from Symphonia (proof: Sorey's cape) and carry the influence of old Tales characters in terms of design and personality- Jude (Xillia) and Lloyd (Symphonia) for Sorey; Luke (Abyss) for Rose (for both the annoying then cute side that eventually surfaces); Flynn (Vesperia) for Alisha (they're both naive, over-zealous, law-abiding knights). Though they won't readily admit it, I know how the fans just hated how these Tales characters were being "recreated" for Zestiria, claiming "Zestiria made them look worse." They forgot I guess, that as the 20th Anniversary game, it's bound to carry the influences of ALL the previous Tales games- I mean- Zesty is, after all, the FIRST MAINSTREAM TALES game to be launched worldwide with translations in 8 languages. In Tales Wiki pages vandalized by some Berseria fans, they call Zestiria so "underwhelming that Berseria is regarded as the real Anniversary game." Of course, that's BS. Berseria fans just love talking to themselves and pretending everyone agrees. Ironically, if you look at the Tales tradition since Tales of Phantasia, the ones that are really DIFFERENT from the tradition were Berseria and Vesperia- certainly not Zestiria. Thematically, Tales characters are designed to be consistent with the somewhat nuanced "spiritual" themes of the game, with protags mostly advocating a "non-racist," "liberal-democratic" "nonsexist" stance- which is antithetical to the LAWLESS and VINDICTIVE persecution complex of Velvet and Yuri. The rebellious anti-hero is NEVER a Tales perspective except for these two games. As proof, the most recent Tales Anniversary game "Tales of Arise" follows the OLD formula- so you have the protags having the same character traits- a FAR OUTCRY from either Vesperia and Berseria. 2. The H. Baba (Zestiria producer) Controversy. My interaction with Vesperia fans say much about the fandom accusing Baba of NOT WANTING TO RELEASE a definitive edition of Vesperia or any older game. The reactions to this claim were bitter and angry, making it seem as if Baba was the ONLY producer who makes such decisions when in fact he's only one of four. They saw the "ambitious" launch for Zestiria as the reason for the budget being "misused" for only one game. Notwithstanding, a Symphonia fan uploaded an article about Alisha being the true heroine of Zestiria and how the budget for Berseria was "stolen" by Zesty's production team. Yet with ZERO PROOF it became the basis for the meme "they did Alisha dirty." In a video upload of "The Most Hated Games" one hater deleted his reply after accusing Baba of going to Twitter as proof that he "outed" Alisha just so he could give the better part to Rose. Given how easy it is to hack Twitter, these "scandals" NEVER happened. (Bnamco anime like "Idolish 7" and "Tiger and Bunny," in fact, show how FAKE scandals can be perpetrated online.) Besides, if you're going to destroy someone's career, don't you think the least you can do is offer proof? But all the haters did was send DEATH THREATS to Rose's character designer, voice actress, and to Zesty fans, telling them to shut up or die. That aside, it's also known that Alisha's voice actress has some of the most toxic fans in Japan known for defending their "idol" even for the most flimsy of reasons. Add to that the fact that Japanese fans probably don't get the in-game joke- which when translated in English- is supposed to be funny- like when Rose says "Am I just a replacement?" In truth, it was Rose who's supposed to feel insulted, not Alisha. The Japanese fans claiming Alisha was "done dirty" did not bother to process ALL the OTHER game dialogue where Alisha was explicitly called a "strong woman." She was never "disrespected" by any of the characters- certainly not by Rose. The thing is, in an official interview and article uploaded online, Berseria's producer explains having "played Zestiria" during development. He says that in the planning stages, Rose and Alisha were really meant to have contrasting but complementary roles- meaning they were originally cast that way. The writers and Baba insisted that there was NO change in plans at all. Fans just wanted to put him down and invented nasty rumors that had NO PROOF from the start- but when Rose's voice actress apologized for disappointing Alisha fans, Vesperia fans went on again in Vesperia game review sections saying Baba should be "jailed" for forcing an actress to apologize. WHAAAT? In an animenewscentral article, it was said that H. Baba apologized profusely for the Sorey-Mikleo ending, saying it was his fault for not putting "spoilers" for the game. The fans claim that the POSTER ADS showing Alisha and Sorey are spoilers for the "ship" that the game failed to deliver. BUT REALLY... are ads supposed to be spoilers when the game is NOT even ROMANCE but fantasy-adventure? Do producers have an obligation to put spoilers? Besides, spoilers can in fact be unethical for most audiences who prefer unpredictable plot twists and surprises. Then again, haters hate without logic or proof. 3. POPULARITY COMPETITION among the Tales games. I don't know how this could be a reason- but believe me, the rivalry got so bad that some gamers even uploaded videos comparing the stats between Vesperia, Symphonia, Berseria, and Zestiria to suggest that Zestiria is the LEAST popular of these games. When I asked what the stats are supposed to prove, the uploader ranted like a real "professional" (I guess all Tales game critics suffer from hypertension?) In reddit, they dedicated an entire thread just to SHAME Zestiria for being on sale for $7.99- after five years of being sold at the regular price. But hey, VESPERIA IS ON SWITCH SALE NOW (as of June 23, 2023) for $7.99 too. Are they going to shame Vesperia for being on sale too? The shaming on Zestiria fans got so bad that Zesty comments saying it's the "best Tales game" were deleted after all the harassment. It's obvious the fandom only wanted the "hate" to be circulated. And yet, when someone says "Vesperia" or "Symphonia" is a bad game, the fans rant like they lost a limb. Of course, the worst critics are in reddit. They actually block anyone who disagrees that the 3G (giants) of Tales are Vesperia, Symphonia, and Abyss. Of course, since reddit tales is made up of 99.2% "proud Vesperians" who can object? But the NON-STOP SHAMING was rabid- with some reviewers/critics pandering and exaggerating them since the haters flock like flies to join the shame-bandwagon. (Some even request "hate videos" from these critics). Meanwhile, those who uploaded Tales-related videos based on the older games (like Dan Santos) started getting attention ONLY DURING and AFTER Zestiria, not before- despite the claim that these older Tales games are far superior. Omegaevolution himself seems to hate Zestiria, even bothering to upload that viral video showing how Sorey keeps knocking against a wall- which is a feature that NEVER happened in my experience of playing the game. Neither did I see it in any OTHER gameplay. It was so ridiculous and unlike him to do that- since the gamer NEVER comments on his gameplay videos- but he went out of his way for Zestiria, using his influence to attract more hate for the game. If you notice the "godly" Omegaevolution's wallpaper for ALL Tales games, only Zestiria's wallpaper looks uhh..."vandalized?" All the other Tales games, especially Vesperia, has the iconic protag on the center as it should be. But I digress... Need I say that Vesperia and Symphonia were also accused of "being broken" games and have received "patches" as well? But who wants to talk about that, right? In fact, Vesperia was so broken during release they decided to blame the platform for it. To assuage the fans, Switch was exclusively done for Vesperia- and this time, Tales of Arise's producer made sure that Vesperia Definitive Edition will be released BEFORE Tales of Arise. Symphonia got a new release too. Talk about toxic fans getting the attention they've always wanted. But then maybe it's just PURE COINCIDENCE because if I were the recent Tales producer, I'll do the exact same thing to avoid the hassle from immature fans who think only their happiness matters.

Zestiria has one of the best openings but it's actually one of the weakest entries to the series and i don't recommend start here. I also don't recommend the anime because is even worse. It has a couple of changes to the story that contradicts the lore of the game.

Not the worst for sure but it's in the bottom tier. You can like it, that's nothing wrong with that, but the best? Yeah.....just no.

Anime gives new interpretation of story, i like how Alisha is develop, I find that very cool like new details. And I think it's a good thing to test because even if its the weakest, I find experience very nice and for someone who discovers its not a bad thing and if someone wants play Berseria, its really good complement, don't you think ?

I really love Zestiria and the intro is awesome. And yes, the transformation is a thing you can do in this game. An anime exists but I don't really liked it. The pacing is too fast and they changed some things. But audio and visuals are still great. I recommend to watch the opening of the anime. It's sooo good 🥰
