Dump truck, trailer, excavator and skidsteer are 4 key pieces of equipment to move dirt fast and efficiently. Nice Bobcat !

Liked the flash-back of pre-pond days, Kap. Enjoy your skid-steer.

Thanks, wow, I couldn't believe where we started on that duck pond! Note to self.... Don't build a duck pond on really hilly elevation changes! LOL

Now you've got me thinking- I am checking the current rates versus our rates on our mortgage tomorrow!!

Shop around! I got these rates through a farmcredit organization. Good luck!!!

You need a little dozer now.

Your 650 is going to be a game-changer, for sure. Every tool you add to your inventory, reduces your labor, and give you more capability. I'm happy that you could make it happen!
@kapperoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
yes sir, thanks. Soon I'll just have to make the payments! LOL

You have no idea how much this is going to change to your life. The skid steer is amazing plus if you do stuff right you will do a lot more that what you've done and suggested here. Plus with the new tools that is coming out is going to be amazing. Also if you buy the cylinder mulcher you can cut paths in wood very easy
@kapperoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I think you are right, this thing will prove to be a productivity machine! Stay tuned!, thank you

@@kapperoutdoors oh trust me bud I drive one along with alot other plant my fav other than skid steer is the cat d12 dozer call "the big bog" due to the d12 been one rhs biggest dozers in the world. We have three skids we have the 2011 bobcat tho looking updating. We have 2019 cat skid that is the top the range and we also have the asv skid all good at what they do me have a custom bucket made for us for the cat that fits cat and bobcat that is huge split bucket with teeth. We also had are in process of making and designing a form of concrete grinder as we do demo aswell. Just to help us where bigger stuff cant get in
@lynneperg68534 жыл бұрын
That skid steer will really help you in expanding what you can build by yourself. Once Mrs. Kapper gets used to running the big toys you'll have trouble getting them back. I'll bet taking a barn apart or moving trees will be easier with hydraulic assist. Have a good rest of the week. Take care.
@kapperoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Lynne, yeah I think she will like them if/once we get her trained up!!

Ya gotta have the right equipment to make the work load easier to do. Wish I would have had some in the day. Stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep warm
@kapperoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
you're right. Mrs. Kapper was raised on a farm, and her dad would have loved to have this kind of equipment back then!! Sure does make a huge difference, thanks.

Look forward to seeing you using the new skid steer on your up coming projects. My next one is tapping my maples and boiling sap. Love doing it and it's good honest work out

A good friend of mine does that every spring. Good luck with the syrup harvest!

Joe, that thinking looks impressive. We have just shy of 600 acres here on Ohio. Im hoping to get a few ponds put in here in the next few years. I'll be looking for more videos of this machine. 👍👍

We'll definitely be making a list of video projects! Thanks

I just saw a video showing some maintenance difficulties with a "used" CAT 259D, what a horrible design, didn't CAT realize there's people who do their own maintenance? A fuel filter change can be ridiculously expensive (maybe using common sense would help) and an oil change can be ridiculously difficult (a remote oil filter option is needed). I'm sure being able to do your own maintenance is one of your buying criteria. Looks like you made the right choice after all. ;-)

It would be fun for you to go back to when you first bought the hoe and started using it and watch how you filled the bucket full extended and pulled it into the hoe then lifted it. Now you dig the teeth in a bit and scoop a small layer of dirt as you pull the bucket to the hoe filling the bucket as it gets close to you. Much faster and more efficient. Remember practice make perfect. You still need to learn to use the laser lever and set points and then grade the floor to that elevation. The skid steer won't replace the Branson but it will do the digging part of the work much better. Each piece of equipment has a job that it does best and you have to match the equipment to the task you are doing. Your learning grasshopper!
@kapperoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
yes sir life is a constant learning curve. I do need to get better with the laser also that's for sure, thanks.

You will easily get side jobs with the Bob cat and mini ex to pay it off quick. Get a good grapple bucket and start harvesting your hard woods in log form. You can barter with a mobil sawmill owner to cut your own wood for building in Kentucky and buying the other materials. There isnt a tradesman that doesnt need wood for something. Way to go Joe.

Kapper Outdoors there’s a thing that goes on the front of a skid steer that you can put dirt into

I love a John deere tractor or any tractor really. But moving dirt I was a skid steer. Take it over a tractor any day for moving materials

@moavbilly79934 жыл бұрын
Joe, isn't the T650 a track loader vs a "skid steer"?
@kapperoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Best I can tell they interchange the terms. I've seen on Bobcats site it is a compact track loader, but i've always used the term skid steer, probably more slang I guess...
@duramaxmak4 жыл бұрын
How many hours you have on your excavator now. And yes a track loader is a real game changer for loader work
