The way it moved really resembled my Danchee. It just smooths over all those rocks and those rears were moving almost hypnotically keeping the tires planted. Nice moves and upgrades. I'd be curious to know what can be done in opposite way; reduce weight all around, some great tires, a very small brushless that has great torque but enough speed to move at walking speed so that it could float over things.

I would have liked to see the link mounts locate the rod ends a little higher up on the axle and reduce hang up points. I think shock tuning is going to pay the biggest dividends here - remove the inner springs, replace the external springs with soft mini t springs and I think you'll have a comp ready setup? And lay them down some more and you'll increase articulation while dropping the ride height and cg. The Ascent is really shaping up 👍

I think taking the spring out of the back shocks let the back of the truck squat to much when going straight up a hill and that’s why the brass didn’t help as much as it should have. But that is one bad Redcat truck

I recently found out the Gen 8 axles are wider than the Gen 9 used on this thing. I wonder if this would crawl better with some wider Gen 8 axles?

They're bent to increase width, likely to improve leverage on the axle (if that's what you're referring to).

I think adding some nice metal wheels with weights and some Proline Foams and tires would probably make this thing into an absolute boss monster.
