Is there a way to permanently set the age range? I find it annoying always having to select adult range

I agree, you do get different results from each ear. The right ear is more accurate for anybody that doesn't know this.

Have older 6020 model usa. W F degrees for twenty years use. Bought it near time retired as MD. Have never used half ear cover often use one and just wipe it off with alcohol wipe. Normal to have slight differences ear wise...it survived amazingly hope Germans still make them and not framed out to China. Tried forehead by Walgreens and didn't like it..very poor readings...so tossed it..wasn't cheap. Wonder if series seven is same number in usa,,,

Thermometers like this only use is to detect a temperature change. If it indicates a fever use a rectum thermometer for a correct reading.
@WYSbyAdamLash2 жыл бұрын
I don't know about that, but I know these thermometers are reliable. I see them everywhere in hospitals.
@band1tt2 жыл бұрын
@@WYSbyAdamLash Yeah, but ask nurses, they use them for that reason, detect a fever and then whip out the rectum peg
@WYSbyAdamLash2 жыл бұрын
@@band1tt ummm... not really lol. Nurses rarely use a rectal thermometer. I am not sure which hospital you are going to, but ask any doctor or nurse and they'd tell you that this is unnecessary for most cases.
@band1tt2 жыл бұрын
@@WYSbyAdamLash There was a discussion about this and the doctors and nurses agreed that the only thermometer that is accurate is the rectal. None of the surface measuring ones can be trusted. Both are used wherever most fitting to ease workload of course

You mentioned the color feature about 10 times, ok we got it. But forgot to mention that all the bells and whistles this Thermometer has are mostly making the device slower and less useful: the night mode is such an example, the bright screen makes measuring at night a disaster, impossible to find the ear and is very bright for sleepong kids.
@WYSbyAdamLash7 ай бұрын
Each individual has their own preferences. For me, I never faced this issue as a problem. Conversely, having no backlight is significantly more detrimental as you may not be able to read the temperature in darkness.

How many times can i use those desposible ones?
@WYSbyAdamLash2 жыл бұрын
The main point behind disposable caps is to prevent cross contamination and promote accurate readings. It is important that the protective caps on the temperature sensor are replaced after each use. Disposable protective caps ensure hygienic use without cleaning or disinfecting the sensor and thus prevent cross-contamination. It also helps in preventing the collection of dirt and ear wax after the measurement, which otherwise can block the sensor area and can lead to inaccurate measurement results.

We have this and been using it for over 4 years. Overall, i don't like it. First when you turn it on, it takes 7 seconds to be able to take a reading. I know 7 seconds is not that long, but gets annoying. Second is it's reading when compared to the Welch thermometer they use at the doctor's office, sometimes i see a 2-3 degrees difference. When i asked the pediatrician, he told us rear thermometers are not the most accurate

@3:18 about the information at the back of the packaging.hold on there minute. When was the last time you had 37.7c°?! SINCE WHEN IT IS "NORMAL"?!!! Ones tem reaches 37.5+ you start feeling quite sick. You feel as joints and shoulder muscles are kinda "braking" lol idk how else to explain this and it isn't Just Me. Literally for my 39 years of age Every person I ever talked to about flue etc.or Just being sick,everyone feels pretty much the Same when their temp gets to 37.5/37.6/37.7c° Normal is right around 36.3/4- Maaaay be 37.2/37.3 or so. Ones it passes .5 mark and higher,you Will feel quite disgustingly sick. In fact me and some others rather have 38.0(even a bit higher) than 37.6 or so.. you just feel fevor without joins and muscles going crazy lol HOW COME company making the product advertises that 37.7c° is a *"Normal"* ? That I can't get..
@WYSbyAdamLash5 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your insights. Individual body temperatures can vary, and while 37.7°C may seem elevated to some, it is generally considered within the upper range of normalcy for others, particularly when considering factors such as physical activity, time of day, and individual differences. If you consistently feel unwell at this temperature, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation. Additionally, please note that the method demonstrated in the video for taking a temperature reading was incorrect. The proper procedure involves inserting the device into the ear and then pressing the button.

@WYSbyAdamLash Hey. I corrected my initial comment so it doesn't look like I'm ranting at you:) absolutely not) It is about the packaging information at the back of the thermometer. But I want to tell you ones again.. Hundreds of people I must have discussed flue and fevers EVERY PERSON agrees that 37.7 that is not norm,every feels sick when it is this high. Again,nothing against you in fact we just Bought the thing😊 I was just sharing
@alexnone33742 ай бұрын
It depends on the method being used to take the temperature. Ear and rectal thermometers read 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than an oral temperature

If it’s red. Don’t go to the emergency room. You will waist yourself and the ER workers time. It turns red at 102f which not a high grade fever at all
@WYSbyAdamLash9 ай бұрын
It would turn red at around 39.4C or 102.9F. A fever of 39.4C is considered a high-grade fever. High-grade fevers are typically seen as serious and might require medical attention, especially if accompanied by other symptoms or if they persist.
@WYSbyAdamLash9 ай бұрын
A fever of 39.4C (approximately 102.9F) is generally considered high for adults and children, aligning with the claim that the ThermoScan 7 turns red at this temperature. It's a guideline indicating that the temperature is in a range that might require medical attention or closer monitoring.
@WYSbyAdamLash9 ай бұрын
The actions one should take (such as whether to visit an emergency room) depend on a variety of factors, including the individual's age, overall health, the presence of other symptoms, and how long the fever has lasted.

I bought this 2 years ago and now, mine doesn't work when I need it most with a sick grandbaby. It keeps saying, POS!!!!
@WYSbyAdamLash2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your negative experience. (POS = position error) means that the thermometer probe was not positioned securely in the ear. Make sure that the positioning of the probe is correct and remains stable. Replace the lens filter (disposable cap) and reposition. Try again.
