I say a Fox as they have been seen a lot in area and are quite common and I think the deer would smell the Coyote early on and been long gone! Also the critter backs off while deer approaches it.

I’d say Coyotes. The second one, around 50 seconds in, is larger and is flanking the deer. The deer appears to pick up the scent of the second one when it ventured in the brush line and decides that’s one coyote too many. Nice video, thanks for sharing

Definitely coyotes...we have them here at our farm and they skulk around like that...they were sizing her up. I hope she got away...they took down a full size deer here one year. We have to be vigilant with our calves and goats with them around...they are lethal.

I'd say a coyote for sure. I think I saw a second one too. It looked like the prominent predator was using the same tactic they use on dogs, by luring their quarry into deeper brush. It almost worked ! Deer are very curious.

Atlantic Sea ...yes, you are right. My husband hunts in Pa and came across some sickly ones, the deer, once or twice. Sad pathetic thing to see. Nature can be beautiful and harsh. Kate ...goes to show how much you dont know...when killing for thrills is wrong, yes. Poaching, wrong. To put food on the table or to manage a herd, so that the animals dont exhaust their food source, or killing with compassion, swiftly, the old or the very ill...nothing wrong with that. Be informed and speak to some ethical and lawabiding outdoorsmen or outdoorswomen, and be enlightened. If it werent for such participants in this long time tradition of hunting, fishing and outdoor activities such as hiking and biking Americas beautiful and numerous trails, fields and forests, not forgetting our wetlands, also, well the fees and the costs of the special licenses needed....those moneys are what pay for these places of natural beauty to be maintained and looked after. I didnt realize it either....until after I began to target shoot and then went out once or twice with my husband...twenty some years ago. Two winters he was laid off...and that venision in the freezer fed our family and a few other friends. As it is now...I would prefer to take pictures of the game. But if it is conducted legally, and ethically, nothing wrong with it. BTW, are you a vegan....if so...take your vitamins. Do you eat eggs or milk or cold luncheon meats? Silly woman. Know the facts, not the bullshit!!!! Truly.

Definitely Coyote in fact the front one is demonstrating why they get their name. Coy tactic! As in decoy. He gets the attention of the prey, retreats with hope that the prey will pursue and the prey gets flanked by the second coyote. They do this a lot with domesticated dogs. It almost worked as he had the doe lured in but the wise doe discovered the flanker.

I would be willing to bet $10,000 that they were coyotes or dogs. In other words, I am 99.9% sure that they were. Foxes do not run like that. All bears are hibernating in Maine right now and I would be willing to bet $100,000 that it was not a bear. It definitely did not look like any type of cat or Fischer.

2 coyotes you can be sure that deer was going for trouble. 1 coyote is supposed to kill 4 to 6 deer per year to feed himself . That's why we hunt them, especially snare them. I live in new brunswick canada and you can be sure that does 2 coyotes wouldn't stand a chance up here, I know it's nature but nothing wrong with helping the deer. OK now there's not munch snow but when the snow get deeper or if the deer go on the ice on like a river, that it's a dead deer , seen many on rivers
