This is the truth...this is the life from Morocco. I am living in Marrakech and this is what i see. It s a big fight between girls. I see many gay people who are coming here because it s freedom, they buy kids with 200dh. It s sad because this country is sooooo beautiful. I love this place not the people.

Good discussion i think moroccan society isn’t ready for these discussions at alllltbh. As a moroccan i can say yes it was shocking yes i see why people may object, but i’m someone with principles i always will stand with the voiceless and downtrodden. also i believe in free speech. Banning this film made me wanna see it even more and we have a habit of closing our eyes and expecting our problems to magically disappear... we are a hypocritical society lets face it lol why deny or condemn? this has and will always be our problem.

They ban this movies bcz morocco dont want to see whats happening in morocco and also goverment dont want People to know whats happening their . They pretend morocco is a muslim country where all follow islam but its not . Even they have mosque and adhan and all People follow moroccan culture not islam . No islamic country can follow islam when the leader are corrupt

As a moroccan university student, I should say that the country has a number of principles that must be respected. I mean first the naked-scenes showed in the film. For us anything with a sexual, erotic or pornographic aspect is against our religious and cultural beliefs. So this film is considered as hitting our moral and ethical values. That's why, I was honestly expecting a serious judicial process against the film's teamwork by the moroccan court. It is not about being enough mature to see this kind of things like what the filmmaker said, but for Muslims, it pollutes the intellectual human soul structure, whatever how old or how well educated the audience is. Second, the film is bad timed because it confirms in a certain way the rumors saying that most of moroccan ladys are protitutes. This is my point of view!

No matter how much you hide it from the public eye, this is happening. There are prostitutes who need social protection. And what religion? Does Islam allow you to watch KZbin or Facebook? Stop this religious double standards and start respecting Freedom of Speech

Hypocrisy comes from caring more about saving face then actual morality. Making Nabil Ayouch the Marty Baron (Boston Globe/Spotlight movie) of your film industry.

Sweetheart, if someone is telling a story of an event or events that is happening in your society weather you like it or not, then they have every right and responsibility to do so. If you're so concerned about religious and cultural beliefs, then get off your toosh and do something about the fact that there are hundreds and thousands or young women who do this for a living, and men who have the insatiable desire to abuse them sexually.

I believe your mistaken and your reason about saving face is short sighted because in Islam they look much deeper at what the long term effects of showing immoral stylized imagery like this and far reaching consequences on society which we are unfortunately seeing now in the west where I was born and live. we constantly see sexualisation of women and young children due to the music videos , films and other media which they are bombarded with everyday. This has a psychological impact. People wrote powerful books without any imagery and they still passed on the story or message. So please understand that naturally we want to protect our brothers, sisters and children and society in general. And the majority of the people want this! why do you perceive it wrong? or do our views not count because we are a different race?

Well said Anwar. @Coyote isnt it a humane duty not solely a religious duty.. to get of your ass and help those women? Or is freedom all about speech and no action?
