I kinda suspected Dromed wouldn't be the baddy just for the simple fact that they already did that plot in the prologue with the Monk Asterisk dude and I didn't think it would repeat again. That said, I was also taken off guard by Castor.

@@Flamelance_Accendo The scary thing though? Most people don't really know how valuable fresh water truly is, and how much chaos would ensue if it ever became a scarce resource. Nice to see the Thief class being used against Castor, kind of getting vengeance for Bernard (on behalf of Anihal) . On the side note, I do like how Castor gave a bit of foreshadowing with his movesets as a party member. He can use both defensive debuff as skills, two attacks that only a Berserker can use.

He really was blinded by his devotion and the fear of seeing his own country's destruction from the droughts that plagued their land. He was tempted by the power of the crystals, and look what it lead to in the end for himself and his own father.

Damn... Castor may not be "Prince Charming", but he knows enough to act that way to fool everyone, both the characters AND the player. Also, that... Brings up an interesting question. How many Asterisk wielders were decent people before they turned them into Saturday Morning Cartoon villains. I mean maybe it is just Castor because he was wielding an asterisk that IMPLORES acting on rash impulses, but still it is actually interesting to think about.
@Highstar253 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for instance, was ominas crowe always a pyromaniac or did the black mage asterisk do that to him?
@KXDragon63893 жыл бұрын
It's hard to tell... mostly because they really captured Castor going berserk well. It really sounds like he's losing his mind as he acts on his rash impulses and it's hard to tell how much is his own frustration of how his country is and how much is the asterisk possibly amplifying said frustration to levels that just sounds... pitiful.
@Kuulpb3 жыл бұрын
@@Highstar25 The weird thing is - in Bravely default + second, the fighter doesn't "lose" their asterisk powers, so perhaps they either used it so much and for so long they were permanently changed, or the Asterisk was sort of... "made" by them, not like full on made, but like, They Imprinted onto the asterisk as opposed to the inverse. - and of course, which timeline you're in changes how people act, so it's also entirely possible that the asterisk does absolutely nothing other than letting the user "do what they want"

@zomboids21003 жыл бұрын
Given what we saw with the ruins and the droughts that plagued them, those trades might not have been enough to fully sustain the entirety of kingdom of savalon in the long run. Let alone allow them to continue with growing crops and everything if water is basically next to nothing. Droughts make things even more difficult on both land and the people who live there. If no means to grow more food then supplies would be devoted to those selected, same with the water supply they may have.
