My favorite thing about the old game was when you walk into a town and stand still the camera zooms far out and shows the whole map. The only time I used the 3D feature, lovely art.

I love that the reviewer reviewed the game in a way to measure what the devs were aiming for and whether they succeeded or not. I'm tired of reviews that complain about things that were never under debate, like "rpg turn-based battles"... or "grinding"... or "antiquated mechanics" and then proceed to give the game a 6 or 7 because it has those things instead of being the next Witcher 3 or persona 5. To me, that's just dishonest reviewing - expecting a game to be something it never set out to be, which has been the case for a lot of people reviewing this game on other channels and outlets. Some reviewers need to learn to say no to reviewing a game they are not the target audience for, and I'm glad this reviewer was a good choice for this one.

I've been looking for a modern incarnation of a classic JRPG and I found that in this game. I LOVED the demo and bought the game as soon as it became available to purchase. This game feels more like the classic Final Fantasy games than the modern FF games do. >.>

That's really sad the developer thought of Braverly Second, people were afraid of what happened at the end of Bravely Default would happen in Second. Second is a great game.

The bravely default and tales series are both the game types that can break the game. I feel bad for npcs since you can literally be unstoppable if you build your party correctly.

I'm picking up my copy later today and I'm very much looking forward to it. Only downside I can see, which is pretty minor I think, is that there's no designated Default button. Press R for Brave options but no L for Default like Bravely Default and Bravely Second had. Might be a little annoying but certainly not the worst ever

I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy having to police myself when it comes to engaging in combat. It sounds like the game expects you to take every fight you see, which means that the temptation to avoid combat out of impatience could come back to bite you.

You can use bait, it spawns monsters and then you aggro mob them and they will shine. When you engage the enemies and defeat them, the battle will continue depending on how many enemies you aggroed and that's how you chain battles for bonuses.

Im on the fence with this game. I really like turned base combat but i dont love the brave system. And the job classes dont necessarily feel like they suit the characters. And, most importantly, i hate when devs cheap out on storytelling (cutscenes). My standard for this kind of game is final fantasy 7-10. The switch should have literally no issue playing a modern game in that vein but it feels like the bar is set so low for switch games becuz its really viewed as a handheld. Guess ill wait till this weekends utube vids b4 deciding. Hope its worth the price tag w my standards in mind.

Yea, It is predictable. We can look at it this way: Bravely default # = main games (ffx, ffxiii) Bravely second # = direct sequel of numbered main games (ffx-2, ffxiii-2)

The later versions which came to the west did, yes (these versions released later in the east as well). They decided to mimic this function with mechanics rather than options this time around. This will give you less control, but it is probably better for immersion.

I always just explored with battles off, found the traveler and ran in circles near him with encounters on when farming a dungeon. Made exploring dungeons feel way off.
