Like you have four people on the front lines battling the opponent, but there is also four people in the back, one person in the back is set with one person to the front, allowing the person in the front to use the main job the person in the back has equipped, along with the first two abilities they have set, allowing the range of how you face the enemy skyrocket, an example would be a tomahawk/baker class setup for the person in the front, while the person in the back has the Wizard job as their main, therefore making the person in the front a physical attacker, a magic attacker, and a debuffer all in one.
