Hex Isme Yeah it's not only a noisy tree, but it's other 'branch' seems to be constantly moving and swaying in different directions, despite the complete lack of wind. For a wildlife specialist, he doesn't seem to understand the need to stay still when around animals that are likely to bolt when they see lots of movement. He is constantly 'talking' with his hands, which is ok most of the time, except for when you are holding an animal. When holding a wild animal, you want to try to make it feel secure, so it doesn't bolt.

I was once woken up in the middle of the night by a green tree frog croaking, and I sleep pretty heavily so for a frog to wake me up it would have to be at least the size of my hand. I could tell it was inside because it's call was quite loud. I searched my house for a while but couldn't find it. I quickly got fed up with trying to find the frog so I went to the bathroom. I open the lid of the toilet to use it and THE FROG IS IN THE TOILET! Honestly I have no idea how it got in my toilet but I did carefully catch it and release it back outside. It was quite pretty actually and about the size of my palm which is approximately 8 cm x 9 cm.

We get little tree frogs in the Great Lakes area. They DO get in your gutter downspouts which absolutely makes them LOUD! They are also like chameleons. They change color based on the surface theyre sitting on.

yes the male platypus has a spur on its hind leg, but the spur is connected to a venom sac. the platypus sting is meant to be one of the worse pains that can be inflicted on humans, the pain has been known to last months later.

"In 1991, Keith Payne, a former member of the Australian Army and recipient of the Victoria Cross (Australia's highest award for valour) was struck on the hand by a platypus spur, while trying to rescue the stranded animal. He described the pain as worse than being struck by shrapnel. One month later he was still experiencing pain in that hand. In 2006, Payne reported discomfort and stiffness when carrying out some physical activities, such as using a hammer."

I got two of these as babies that were bred in captivity back in June last year. I had done a TON of research on them before getting them and tried to make sure they had the absolute best care. Like you’re supposed to make sure your hands are CLEAN when touching them. It has to be a certain temp, but also pretty humid. I had an automatic humidifier. You gotta keep the terrarium clean. Optimal feeding is gutloaded crickets, and that’s a whole thing in and of itself. But yeah like no distilled water, no tap water. Only spring/bottled water. Obviously, this is because of how they were bred. Even doing everything I could, they still both got sick and died in August. They were still very tiny, at about 3 months old. Super sad!! I love these squishy froggos. They’re cute and sweet.
