'Innocent' verses 'ignorance' would be debatable in this situation ...depending on an 'individual's observation' and thought process. But what is not debatable is the fact that Caroline's parents are 'only' capable to speak 'their own language, and by 'mere 'ignorance' expect Sergios parents to speak theirs!. Has of Sergio's parents, well they have the 'ability' to speak and master 'five' different languages which 'include' English, Caroline's parents 'only' spoken language. Therefore, 'innocence' and ignorance' are debatable more so, when you expect someone to have mastered 'your only' spoken language when you are visiting 'their' country.
