I don't like Paulie at all, but he's not literally telling her what to do. He's saying he'll go if she does more mangling of her body. He's letting her know he finds it repulsive and that it's a nonnegotiable. I agree with him there. If I had a bf who was constantly effing with his body surgically, I'd probably be out before he could do surgery #2. Necessary is one thing, but messing about is a whole other, and a person's partner has a right to express their revulsion.

Dolores listed one time the number of plastic surgeries she has had. She virtually has her surgeon on speed dial. With David, she didn’t even tell him. She has a small apartment in the city and she went and did it. It’s concerning because people die anytime they have surgery.Anesthesia is nothing to fool with. No reputable doctor would do the number of surgeries Dolo has had.She clearly has a problem. And she needs to start looking inward too as to why no man wants to put a ring on her finger. With David, he bought her a car instead. Paulie is still married but wants to go into business. Dolores says she listens to no one, not even her elderly parents. That’s fine, but then she needs to stay alone . That could be the problem. Your partner is supposed to complement you, but if you are so independent and strong willed, you won’t have a partner.

Margaret outed Paulie about not being divorced. It left it open for Andy to ask her last year at the reunion and Dolores had to be honest. But, she never confronted her to her face.
