My favorite part: when Curly sings "Don't take my arm to much Don't keep your hand in mine" and she tries to pull her hand away and he won't let go, and I don't think his voice could be any more beautiful but then he sings "Your hand feels so grand in mine". So perfectly sublime. His voice and the way he looks at her hand is enough to make any heart melt. This song never gets old for me. No one will ever sing this like Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones.

Apparently she even admitted in an interview back in the day that she had a bit of a crush on him, lol... then they got matched again in Carousel! So those looks on her face of admiration & day dreaming are definitely genuine, lol. So cute! I saw this musical in high school (sophomore year). I had never gone to any stage productions, and I was moved by the students' singing, the high school band, the sets, and everything about the musical. The music and lyrics remained with me for years. The work the students and their faculty advisor did to make that musical happen was absolutely amazing. My parents and I used to watch all these old musicals back to back when I was a kid. Our heat and air would break on the top floor of our old house, so we’d move our beds downstairs into the living room side-bye-side and watch all the taped VHS’s of Oklahoma, West Side Story, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, South Pacific, etc... until we got enough money together to fix the furnace. Fond memories, still know all the words.

I wish I was Curly and my wife was Laurey and we were in Oklahoma 150 years ago. this was the first movie I seen in 1959 that was in color. when i was in first grade in the school auditorium in the Bronx. and ever since then almost every day of my life i sing ''oh what a beautiful morning''

I was referring to the love, romance and passion between them. Those days were a lot more peaceful than our complicated and crazy world. From childhood all men have to be taught to respect all women, as my mother did with myself. I work 7 days a week. When I get home, I mop. sweep, do the dish's, take out the trash and do my laundry. I help my wife a lot. My mother taught me that not all women are alike. So please don't think all men are alike.

Olive Lane I live in England with my husband and 2 teenage sons. My husband and I are ex Royal Opera singers, and are going to sing this duet in a local concert. My husband will sing Oh what a beautiful morning, and I will sing Falling in love with love from the boys from Syracuse. We have decided this music is so wonderful, better for the audience than opera. My dad who was buried 2 years ago today used to sing oh what a beautiful morning.... I miss him so much.
