no. you will get the skin and will be able to use it when you get the brawler.

​@@sir_blue3608 Not mis informative, If you get that skin then in the brawler section you will get an option to proceed unlocking your current brawler or Kenji since you have the skin. I got this option for each battle pass skins I bought. Not instantly free but we do get an option to unlock him but need to grind.
