2:00 When I tried to balance Grenzo in my head I came up with replacing heist by plot 1 of 3 random opponent card... one free spell per turn, face up and at sorcery speed, and Grenzo needs to wait for the next turn to play it. I would still play this much less powerful Grenzo because of the fun of stealing and casting for free.

i feel like i havent seen a commander pre-2022 in forever. naya synergy or naya good-stuff has been over half of my games recently. brawl has been feeling kinda stale lately but at least i get to have fun with my own deck

I think people hate him more. Due to the fact that it's a black red deck and out of the 99 cards, 50 of them are kill spells.

I have started to think Roxanne might be one of the single best Brawl commanders. To the point it feels like a mistake. I don't know if I have a deck I am confident can beat Roxanne. Roxanne is one of the cards that makes me feel like Cavern of Souls should not have been reprinted...

Maybe oddly, but one of my best deck against Roxanne is Goreclaw. If you go big fast enough she can't keep up. If you're into it, I would say Poq is also a consideration.

@@dayel11 This is where I have to admit that a portion of my problem is myself. I have a personal vendetta against Alchemy, most particularly Poq and Grenzo, so I would never play them. That does unfortunately lower the power of my decks though. I have built mono-green in a few incarnations, but I tend to find that having worse removal options, especially against early mana dorks is a very punishing place to be. I have been trying out Imprisoned in the Moon lately as a way to permanently remove commanders like Roxanne, but it has been mixed results.

They should fix paq to say "non-legend land" to take out the forced loop.

The loop is a disincentive to play Poq more often than it's an incentive, because if they set it off they're throwing away whatever chance to win they might have left. Unless you like playing against Poq/Ashaya board states that copy a creature every turn?
