Honestly the most busted card with Niko is Silent Hallcreeper. Turns your shards into 1/1 unblockables that can keep growing each turn, draw you cards or turn into something else and stay copies of it. It's sort of nuts! Happy to see a Niko video 😁

Silent Hallcreeper has great value. Angel on Invention can be an out of nowhere KO with a few shards out. Admonition Angel can be really busted. Permanently exiling nonlands. Have the angel out, landfall trigger targeting something to exile, in response activate Niko to blink it so it’s 2nd trigger resolves first and then the targeted card stays exiled. Or hold your land, make all your shards the Admonition Angel, play your land, exile nonlands up to however many shards you have and then at end of turn they go back to being shards, the angel never leaves play so they permanently stay exiled.

I also built Niko soon after release, but was a bit more aggressive with my blinking of Niko and the creatures I opted for rather than a slightly more control based shell. Turning 8 shards into Drogskol Captains is certainly a trip. Honorable mentions go out to the Marshal of Zhalfir, Skycat Sovereign, and Empyrean Eagle. As always, great video Amy.

I'd second the Enchantment Enter theme just because Gremlin Tamer + Entity Tracker + turn 4 Niko sounds like a fun turn

Now that there's more Constellation/Eerie and enchantment tokens, the classic on-cast enchantresses unfortunately feel a bit more limited. For example, Niko triggers Entity Tracker twice and Mesa Enchantress zero times. At least Verduran/Satyr/Mesa still draw when the spell gets countered!

I actually had to ask a judge, but populate does work when the shards are copies of something because they are considered token copies.

I also built Niko soon after release, but i was more ramp/agressive, with cards like steel-plume marshal and phyrexian vindicator, and the deck gets easily 8-20 shards.
