I really struggle with getting dodge reads, do you have any tips that could help me besides just practicing with the random dodge bot?

don't practice with random dodge the goal is to read your opponent not guess where there going to dodge, its good for practicing reactions tho but what I could advise is doing a light attack and seeing where he dodges and try to catch it start simple by trying to read a n light and move up from there

a lot of weapons have conditioning tools. for example, if you're playing spear, hit someone with side light 2 or 3 times and dont follow up. after that, if you see them dodging the same way, next time you use side light you can read their dodge and hit them with double d light afterwards
