Very unimpressed defending by Croatia, like they are playing a preparation match against C-class team and even after mistakes they either quickly fixed them or Livaković stands unimpressed. Also after losing 1:0, defenders didn't forget the dangers of counter attacks. Yes, Brazil played against Modrić-Brozović-Kovačić which is like Bermuda Triangle for most of teams, but interesting to see that as global superstars they were buried by then Dinamo Zagreb trio Livaković-Oršić-Petković. 😂

I do remember this match vividly. I am already expecting Argentina vs Brazil semifinals until the equalizer from Croatia. Brazil collapsed in the last 15 minutes was a truly disaster. They could've kept possessions instead of posing more attacking formation. They could've solidified their backline and limit the mobility of Croatia midfielders. Well, its destined for Argentina and they obviously dominated the Croatians. Argentina will surely finding hard to defeat Brazil in any case, I guess.

Reminds me of game France vs Greece, France were exceptional team but couldn't score, Greece was standing compact behind and waiting for one chance, and they scored and pass through, same with Croatia Brazil, also smaller team was managed by World class managers like Dalic and Rehhagel, while France and Brazil was managed by average manager like Tite and I don't even know who was managing France and that doesn't even matter.

Unlike Greece, Croatia had 50/50 ball possesion. They made a lot of chances from the midfield and controled the ball like no midfield on Earth. The strikers were not on that level though, but neither were Brazil's that day, it was all easy for Livaković to save.

The thing I am saying here is the midfield, that's were Croatia was unbelieveable. We don't have world class attackers since Manđukić left, but the midfield was best in the world.

Croatia has a problem being small nation, beating big nations, Germany is afraid to play against Croatia... But, problem is that Croatia always has to play against Ref and other big country in semi finals and finals!!! Especially vs Spain, France and Germany... Refs have always destroyed Croatia ( that final in Russia ) ... Imagine France in the first half leading Croatia 2:1 - yet, France didn't had a shot on goal ( how is that possible ) 1). Griezman fell 25 meters from Croatia goal - Brozovic got yellow for that, yet Brozovic didn't touch him!!! From free kick everyone jumped for the ball in 11 meters and Mandukic stripped the ball and it was an own goal, how - Referee didn't want to watch at VAR - cuz Mandukic was pushed in a back so the ball instead of being hit forward, it was slided backwards into goal ( instead of VAR disallowed the goal, the goal was given ) 2). The hand ball from a corner, the ball hit Mendy in the head slidded of his hand, on to Perisic hand and in the goal... The VAR showed for 20 minutes, with the coaching staff of France behind the Ref - pulling for penalty ( it wasn't watched that Mendy played with his hand, it was only watch a Perisic hand ) penalty was given for France... Yet, in the first Croatia played great football and scored from great action, after all of that great plays, the result is 2:1 for France, nothing was going as it should off
