I had a SAR-48 from Springfield that I got in about 1989-1990 and the bayonet was the type C commercial as you described with the jungle green frog. Great video, again! I've always had a soft spot for FALs and the associated bayonets. I made a video about my South African manufactured Rhodesian R1 bayonet and not long afterwards was offered a good price, so I sold it. :)

I love FALs too, currently playing with an Austrian parts kit STGW58 built onto a Lithgow L1A1 receiver. Very nice rifle. How was the SAR 48? Was it a decent rifle?

@@pointynotsharp The SAR 48 was a very nice rifle, almost indistinguishable from the Belgian FALs except for the markings. Great shooter too. Springfield imported them as "Match" rifles and mine was very accurate.

I've always been sort of fascinated by this bayo simply because it is so odd looking. I guess it'll do the job though. I'll "stick" with my Type A for my Israeli FAL. Zk

I love the type As as well, I've got a few and definitely need at least two more 👍

These are usually called apple corers.

Weird looking little unit. Limited functionality to the design, outside of being a bayonet of course. Which imo is unfortunate for anyone who has to carry it. Lol
